In a dramatic breakthrough on immigration reform, Sen. John Cornyn (R-Tex.) is offering up an amendment to break the log jam and address his and other GOP senators’ concerns about border security.
Entitled the RESULTS amendment (Requiring Enforcement, Security and safety, & Upgrading Legitimate Trade and travel Simultaneously) the amendment would:
• Requires DHS Secretary and GAO Comptroller General to jointly certify that these triggers are met before Registered Provisional Immigrants (RPI) can adjust to Lawful Permanent Resident (“green card”) status: 1. 100% Situational Awareness – monitoring capability at every segment of Southern border 2. Full Operational Control – defined as at least a 90% apprehension rate along Southern border 3. Biometric Exit System – fully operational and in use at all air and sea ports of entry to which U.S. Customs and Border Protection is currently deployed; retains current law for land ports 4. Nationwide E-Verify System – must be implemented (identical to S.744) • Mandates that DHS deploy newly defined border security metrics to gauge success or failure. • Requires DHS to issue a Southern Border Security Strategy within 120 days to achieve operational control of every sector of the Southern border, and a 50 percent wait-time reduction at land ports of entry.Authorizes supplemental and emergency appropriations to improve border security, including $1 billion per year over 6 years for land port of entry infrastructure improvements and personnel.

In each of the immigration debates (2006, 2007 and 2013), Cornyn was always looking for any plausible excuse to cave and join the amnesty pushers. Look like he found it this time.

I just wrote to you what the two bills would do. You can yell and scream as above, but what would you do to get a handle on this mess? What is your solution? Screaming won’t get it done.
Why should I read it? Enforce immigration laws we already have.
My solution is for all 8 of them to resign. They’re useless.

Cornyn knows this full well, and he knows Prseidents McCain, Romney and whoever in 2016 wouldn’t have and won’t enforce immgration laws either, proving he’s a traitor.

All of these feverish assurances tend to obscure the issue, and they intend that result. This attitude of “What do we have to do to satisfy you people?” by the smaller feedlot critters begs the question.
The question remains, “What would be best for America and Americans?”

In other words, should there be an amnesty? They adroitly continue to place the cart before the horse. Their problem—with people who make their own beds and less fortunate ones who might need a job—is that we know their record.
Long on promises, short on performance (when ICE rank-and-file sue their bosses ...) in a few years we’re looking at the same problems but exponentially worse: an even more porous border, more crime, drugs, crowded prisons, welfare system death spiral and on and on.
Do your jobs, critters. Put the horse in front, Cronies. Seal the border.
They don’t want to do that. There’s the rub.
FReepers could deport all illegals in about two weeks given the chance. You have no argument.
