Gov. Chris Christie on Tuesday set an October special election to fill the U.S. Senate seat made vacant by Frank Lautenberg's death, a decision that gets voters the quickest possible say on who will represents them but also preserves Christie as the top attraction on November's ballot.
The move means the state will have two statewide elections less than three weeks apart, a rare occurrence that's already drawing criticism.
At a news conference, Christie didn't answer the big question of whom he'll appoint to the seat in the meantime, but he said he has a list of possibilities....

I agree with what you’re saying in theory, but since the special election for Senate will be separate from the general election, there will likely be little coattail effect that would benefit a Republican interim Senator. Me, I’m reserving judgment for now.
Give me a Swiss Army Knife and a Shop Vac and could have saved him a bunch of money...
RIDDLE TIME
What loves Obama, is huge in girth, but has no guts?
He still must appoint someone to warm the seat.
My mistake. I thought both would take place on the same ballot.
How can they tell?
Gutless, piece of crap RINO.
Why doesn’t he just go ahead and tell us he’s appointing Booker? His decision has already guaranteed that’s going to happen anyway. If he wants to the kiss the electorate’s ass that will make them real happy, and he won’t have to worry about his damn reelection.
I’m guessing Kean Sr. as the place holder.
This move is so creepy and conniving on every level.

I’ve never seen a fat weasel in the wild. Just this domesticated Garden State variety that’s running the NJ govt. He is slick, you’ve got to give that to him.
The best thing Chris Christie could do for New Jersey, the Republican party, the country, and himself would be to choose a black Republican to fill Frank Lautenberg’s seat until October.
That would provide the basis for an historic occasion — the creation of the first Senatorial Black Caucus in American history, as there would then be two black Senators — both Republicans — serving together.
“Gutless?”
Not from the pictures I’ve seen!
He has to give value for those big donations he has been receiving from Soros and other leftoids.
Chrispie has a list of options? Give me a break. He is marching to the beat of the Kenyan Drum, make no mistake about it. His first call had to be to his new blow-buddie in the white hut. “What do I do now Barry?”

Had Christie appointed a Republican, that person would have been in place to stop some bills from being ramrodded through during midnight voting, been in place to give him or her a running advantage for the election in 2014 and held a place long enough to either firm up support or allow another Republican to have a fighting chance of winning come election time......but.....no
Crispy Creme looks at Obummer with the same love as when he sees a delicious glazed donut. Perhaps they had too much fun at the boardwalk. Crispy Creme stayed too long at the fair with the fake preezy. He is the same as a democrat. Fo Shizzle.
