It should go to Doug Forrester. He’s the one that was cheated out of if after that slimeball Torricelli ducked out and the Dems broke the rules to stick in Lautenberg.

Forrester had it in the bag, but naturally and surprising no one, the Dems changed the rules.

But you don’t have to be alive to be a Dem voter...or apparently, a Dem Senator.

There’s no trick to it - he’s a pubbie so he should appoint a pubbie. That said I set the probability of that happening somewhere between zero and nil.

“What’s tricky, Christie is a “republican”, he should appoint s republican.”

Exactly........and we all know a Democrat Gov would do it...

If Frank didn’t want a Republican replacement, he shouldn’t have died

Jeff Bell might be a good choice, although he’s around 70. He has a solid conservative record.

A bunch of governors have appointed themselves to vacant Senate seats. None recently (I remember when Wendy Anderson did it in Minnesota in the ‘70s), and none were then elected to the seat on their own. Political suicide.

Someone here suggested Judge Napolatano.

Appointment of Judge napolatano would cause more than one liberal head to explode! Where does Judge Janeane live?

If a Republican, it will be Kean. If Democrat it will be Booker.

Conservatives should probably be a little bit realistic here. We are NOT going to get a Ted Cruz out of this. If we get someone who is a useful vote on a handful of issues, call it a win. If it’s someone who can actually win the seat next time, even better. Expect very little. To the right of Lautenberg is all we can hope for.

Too brilliant. Murray Sabrin would be a good choice as well.
