PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh Steelers offensive tackle Mike Adams is recovering after being hospitalized Saturday for being stabbed in the arm and stomach in Pittsburgh's South Side.
Police said that three men wanted to carjack Adams’ truck early Saturday morning. Authorities said one of the men held a gun to Adams’ head as another stabbed him in the arm and stomach outside of Cambod-Ican Kitchen located at 17th and Carson streets.
Adams’ agent, Eric Metz, said Adams told him he gave chase even after being stabbed.
Adams had left some friends just prior to the incident and was alone when the stabbing took place, said Metz.

The article states the stabbing occurred in front of a Cambodian restaurant which has a good reputation and happens to stay open late, so your suspicions are 'more than likely' unfounded.

Yeah, he was out at 3AM, but he was in front of his house. The bars are closed at this time, but the streets are still full of people. Let me rephrase that....the streets are still full of women, most of whom are “loosened up” from alcohol consumption.
Adams is a single young guy out late on a Friday night. I recall myself being out all night at that age also, and I was doing it after taking money from the taxpayers, since I was in the Navy at that time.

I had many friends in this neighborhood back in the day when it was home to many hard working steelworker folks of East European descent.
It has been transformed into Yuppie Central where young professional cretins will pay three times the going rate for those same row houses the millworkers busted arse to try and get out of. The business district has turned over to just about all bars and nightclubs, which draws the usual naer-do-wells from beyond the neighborhood.
#1 problem is public urination with drunks stopping to take a p*ss on the stoop of your $200K townhome.

Before my "Conservative activist" transformation (20+ years ago) I spent many years living on the "dark side" - I know of these things (wished I didn't).
Good grief! The man, an adult male of means, was out at a restaurant on a weekend night in the off season in what I presume is his home city.
None of that to me means he is not taking his training seriously. He may be training 2 or 3 or 4 days a week. He may be doing zero training. I don’t know but to me off-season training doesn’t mean living in a monastery.
It would be sort of weird but you, as a fan, may know this player’s every habit and movement and maybe he’s out every night, all night drinking and what all.
Have a good season. A co-worker’s husband is a Steeler fanatic and was really disappointed they missed the playoffs. I live in the ATL.
