I am so glad to hear you are still going to Silver Spring. I stopped there just to say Thank You when I was early for Walter Reed events and then had dinner at the restaurant next door. Love those egg rolls!

I did not read that the event was happening anywhere this year. I planned to go anyway.

I went to my recruiters, they are now in the mall,( so many empty stores I guess the Mall is glad to have them. There were no familiar faces this time. I had to explain why I was saying “Thank You”.

I took surprise “goody bags” this year. Flag print lunch or gift bags from the 1$ store. I put what I could in them and stapled them shut with a card from Your FRiends at Free Republic. Not much, but a can of root beer and homemade cookies as well as red white and blue tootsie rolls and flag pencils.

There were only 2 people there that day but they said they would put one on each desk(8) and eat the extras right then! That seemed like a good idea to me too.

I don’t do fancy certificates anymore and because of the small office staff I do not follow your pizza plan and that makes my schedule flexible. With just me to pay for it that is sensible too.

Maybe we should start earlier next year and ask others to join in across FR cities...??
