The NFL might have seen its last bit of Tebowing.
A new report claims that some of those closest to Tim Tebow have suggested that the unemployed quarterback’s NFL career is likely done. ESPN’s David Fleming reports that members of Tebow’s own camp privately told him that his days in the league are “probably over.”

A more relevant question is "Would Tebow sign a contract paying a 3rd string salary?"
That final game now on tape, was the lasting image other team’s defensive coordinators would see. Belichick gave the blue print on how to stop Tebow. Elway knew he couldn’t go into the following season without a back-up plan. The Bobby Douglass type of QB doesn’t equate to long term success in the NFL.
I would also add unlike other sports. The margin of error window is so small. The other 30 owners, General Managers, Scouting Departments, and Coaching staffs know this when looking at players.

He doesn't play an NFL-style game. Denver used the college style "spread option" formation with Tebow that year and surprised and squeaked out several narrow wins against a lot of NFL defenses who weren't quite ready for it. Now those coaches have all watched the films and know what's coming when Tebow comes into a game. He isn't going to catch his opponents by surprise ever again.
Thus, he has to learn to play in a pro-style offense, running designed plays proven to work against NFL defenses. He has apparently struggled mightily with that task in practice.

Worse? No, he’s probably about 3rd string level material but the Jets didn’t agree as they actually started their 3rd stringer over him for a few games last year. And the Jets, just like every other NFL team, are interested in winning games more than pushing a political agenda. That’s not what they’re in business for.
If Tebow would consider a position change, work out for some teams at other positions, and display a level competency and ability doing so, I see no reason why a team wouldn’t sign him. It’s not up to other teams to do this, it’s up to him.

It has been the media and Christian public that have made him a spectacle. Teams are shying away from him due to the circus surrounding him, not his religious beliefs. You are part of that circus.

I see the picture extraordinarily clearly and soberly. You, however, are the one viewing this issue through especially colored glasses. This is a football thing, not a religious one. Quit viewing it as a religious issue and it becomes remarkably clearer for you.

That question is already being asked by many and he is by no means whatsoever guaranteed to have a spot in the NFL. He is a lot like Tebow. Great winning college quarterback. Does a lot of scrambling and impromptu on the field. But, he’s smaller and less physically capable than even Tebow. He’ll have to prove himself a better passer than Tebow to have a chance.
There are hundreds of very good college QBs over the years that never even made training camp in the NFL. I have no idea if they were religious or political or whatever. It didn’t matter then and it doesn’t now.
I stopped watching NFL football when it was apparent they were heading in the same direction as the WWF, all show and drama.
Tebow is a really good football player and a decent Qb. But he didnt help hinself refusing to go in the game i dont think.

Great guy. Poor quarterback. I watched every game he played in the NFL. He never learned to read the field: he pretty much looked at one receiver the whole time and if that guy wasn’t open, he either tried to force the ball or just threw it away. He also never improved his throwing mechanics, consistently trowing the ball into the ground at the feet of his receivers.
The Jets? They were a circus before Tebow got there and will remain one as long as Rex Ryan is their coach. When the coach has a tattoo of his wife wearing a Sanchez jersey, pretty safe bet that he has a selfish interest in protecting HIS guy. Ryan is on record as saying he thought Tebow would play more and blamed Sparano. Sparano, in turn, blamed Ryan for Tebow not playing. Then, when Tebow broke his ribs, Ryan kept him suited up to play, and then when he was healthy, scratched him. You simply aren't being honest with yourself if you believe Tebow couldn't have won a game for the Jets. The Jets are a three ring circus- without Tebow.

If you know the sky is blue, yet everyone else is telling you the sky is purple, would you believe them, knowing in your heart that it is indeed blue? Tebow's ability to prove he is a QB has been established at every level- except the NFL. Rookie QBs are given the conventional 3 year window of starting. Tebow has never been given a complete year in a stable system. Let's remember, Alex Smith was dismissed by everyone in his 2-4th year as a terrible QB. How'd that work out? He got a coach with the right system and plan for him. Hope the kid continues to flourish in KC.

Sorry, hon, I am part of the larger group that believes Tebow has never been given a chance to show what he can do over a few seasons. If he fails, so be it. But he needs the chance to do so. He showed what he could do in a system design to make him fail in Denver. And for you to place blame on his Christian fans just proves that it is you who is part of the circus.

It disappoints me so, especially in the current state we live in, that a freeper of all people would dismiss the media's affect on someone such as this. This is not a football thing. It transcends it. Its a shame you can not see it. Regardless of whether you are a person of faith, the evidence is plain to see. Its a shame you choose to keep your head in the sand.
That wasn’t sarcasm. It was to point out that even Christians in the NFL punditry told Tebow to shut up. I wonder how many Christians would appreciate being told by other Christians to keep your love of the Lord in check?

I am not surprised. There is just too much fear coming from the Christian community.

Michael Robinson was a good - some say great - college quarterback. I think he was the offensive player of the year in the Big Ten and 1st team all conference.
When it became obvious that his talents at quarterback didn’t translate well at the next level, he went out and made himself into an all pro fullback.
He could go to thr CFL when his current income stream ends.
