Any one involved with a Norman Lear production deserves to be dead a long time ago. Hated them all 40 years ago when I was a teenager, and still hate them now.

Friend, this thread is about a consummate actress and her passing."
I don't remember any requirement here to respect posts that honor socialist celebrities of the politics, regardless of their fame or popularity--Jean Stapleton, Sean Penn, whomever.

Thanks for that info. I had no idea the writers had them divorce. That’s interesting. Perhaps he came across as a loser even to the liberal side of the audience?

Insincerities aside, I really didn’t have any personal dislike for Mrs. Stapleton or for any others behind the show (or the Mary Tyler Moore Show, etc.). I do dislike the brainwashing politics of such efforts, though, and do favor an older socio-political culture—pre-1850s, perhaps.
