Scandal: The attorney for Tea Party groups has intimidating letters from IRS offices around the country, not just Cincinnati, including one signed by the Tax Exempt Organizations director. This is no rogue operation.
If the IRS vendetta against Tea Party and conservative political and religious groups were the act of rogue agents in a single office a discredited alibi some administration defenders cling to perhaps they can explain what happened to Catherine Engelbrecht.
Shortly after Engelbrecht founded True the Vote, which trains election volunteers to help root out voter fraud, and King Street Patriots, a group with ideals similar to the Tea Party, and sought tax-exempt status from the IRS in July 2010 for both groups, she was hit by an onslaught of federal harassment.
After seeing nary a government official in two decades of operation, Engelbrecht and her equipment manufacturing company suddenly had the pleasure of six FBI domestic terrorism inquiries, an IRS visit, two IRS business audits, two IRS personal audits and inspections by both the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms and the Labor Department's Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
This was not the work of two rogue agents in Cincinnati. Instead, it suggests a level of coordination and animus that goes above the IRS' Cincinnati office and even above IRS Commissioner Douglas Shulman.
He's the one we now know visited the White House at least 157 times during the Obama administration, thanks to a Daily Caller analysis of White House public "visitor access records." Those are more recorded visits than even the president's Cabinet members.
We are asked to believe that these visits, which included one Easter Egg roll, were merely to discuss the IRS' role in enforcing ObamaCare with fees, taxes and penalties a frightening-enough prospect

157 visits? That is truly incredible.
Obama should have just rented out a room for him.
Again, that is really astounding. What is that? Maybe every other day not counting weekends?

The fish does rot from the head, but once it’s rotten, cutting the head off is not enough. It all stinks at this point.

I don’t understand what the problem is. All my Jewish friends take Easter Monday off to take their kids to the White House for the Easter party. Of course, that leaves 154 other visits to explain....
Might be on to something there. He looks gay.
Sounds like he had a standing weekly meeting at the Whitehouse. The IRS Commissioner had a standing weekly meeting at the White House.
Thins about that for a few minutes.

That actually does work out to about once a week. I was just throwing out a figure not realizing how often he really did visit the White House.
It’s most likely Obamacare that this was about, but the fact that Obamacare NEEDS such collusion should be terrifying enough (as an earthly thing, that is... citizens of heaven are excused from the frightfest).
I thought the only people to see Bambi 157 times were his golf partners.
If you fear leaving a telephone, email and paper trail you conduct business in person.
I think that Dick Morris is on to something.
“The incredible frequency of the White House visits essentially weekly indicate that Obama must have been deeply involved with the inner workings of the audits and harassment of conservative groups,” Morris writes on his website.
Morris asks what other reason would have brought Schulman to the White House 157 times during the period that groups with “tea party,” “patriot” and other conservative buzzwords in their names were being targeted for extra scrutiny.
“Not ObamaCare. Not without having (Health and Human Services) Secretary Kathleen Sebelius in attendance, you wouldnt,” Morris says. “About Treasury issues? Deficit reduction? Not without Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner.”
The reason, Morris says, is that Obama was following the IRS actions with an “obsessive, personal involvement.”
Why else would IRS Commissioner Douglas Schulman have visited the White House at least once a week?
While I don’t always agree with Dick he is spot on regarding the Shulman visits. Surely there is a log showing who Shulman met with on these visits or the purpose of his visits. You just don’t go there 157 times without somebody knowing what your business is that day. I am sure there is a written agenda for his trips if not then Dick is correct in that the visits were for working on targeting the Tea Party. I still think it involved Robert Bauer.
How many times did his wife go to the WH. Need to check the logs.
