In its latest effort to protect followers of Islam in the U.S. the Obama Justice Department warns against using social media to spread information considered inflammatory against Muslims, threatening that it could constitute a violation of civil rights.
The move comes a few years after the administration became the first in history to dispatch a U.S. Attorney General to personally reassure Muslims that the Department of Justice (DOJ) is dedicated to protecting them. In the unprecedented event, Attorney General Eric Holder assured a San Francisco-based organization (Muslim Advocates) that urges members not to cooperate in federal terrorism investigations that the us versus them environment created by the U.S. government, law enforcement agents and fellow citizens is unacceptable and inconsistent with what America is all about.
Muslims and Arab Americans have helped build and strengthen our nation, Holder said after expressing that he is grateful to have Muslims as a partner in promoting tolerance, ensuring public safety and protecting civil rights. He also vowed to strengthen crucial dialogue between Muslim and Arab-American communities and law enforcement.
Evidently that was a precursor of sorts for an upcoming Tennessee event (Public Disclosure in a Diverse Society) that will feature the regions top DOJ official, who serves as U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Tennessee, and an FBI representative. The goal is to increase awareness and understanding that American Muslims are not the terrorists some have made them out to be in social media and other circles, according to a local newspaper report. The June 4 powwow is sponsored by the American Muslim Advisory Council of Tennessee.
The areas top federal prosecutor, Bill Killian, will address a topic that most Americans are likely unfamiliar with, even those well versed on the Constitution; that federal civil rights laws can actually be violated by those who post inflammatory documents aimed at Muslims on social media. This is an educational effort with civil rights laws as they play into freedom of religion and exercising freedom of religion, Killian says in the local news story. This is also to inform the public what federal laws are in effect and what the consequences are.
The DOJ political appointee adds in the article that the upcoming presentation will also focus on Muslim culture with a special emphasis on the fact that the religion is no different from others, even though some in the faith have committed terrorist acts, Christians have done the same. As an example he offers that the worst terrorist attack in the U.S. prior to 9/11 was committed by American Christians in Oklahoma City. He also mentioned the Wisconsin Sikh temple shooting last year in which another Christian, an American white supremacist, fatally shot six people and wounded four others.
Some of the finest people Ive met are Muslims, Killian said, adding later: We want to inform everybody about what the law is, but more importantly, we want to provide what the law means to Muslims, Hindus and every other religion in the country. Its why we came here in the first place. In England, they were using Christianity to further their power in government. Thats why the First Amendment is there.
Over the years the Obama administration has embarked on a fervent crusade to befriend Muslims by creating a variety of outreach programs at a number of key federal agencies. For instance the nations Homeland Security covertly met with a group of extremist Arab, Muslim and Sikh organizations to discuss national security matters and the State Department sent a controversial, anti-America Imam (Feisal Abdul Rauf) to the Middle East to foster greater understanding and outreach among Muslim majority communities.
The Obama Administration has also hired a special Homeland Security adviser (Mohamed Elibiary) who openly supports a radical Islamist theologian and renowned jihadist ideologue and a special Islam envoy that condemns U.S. prosecutions of terrorists as politically motivated persecutions and has close ties to radical extremist groups.
The president has even ordered the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) to shift its mission from space exploration to Muslim diplomacy and the government started a special service that delivers halal meals, prepared according to Islamic law, to home-bound seniors in Detroit. Who could forget Hillary Clintons special order allowing the reentry of two radical Islamic academics whose terrorist ties have long banned them from the U.S.?
Wherever there are mooselimbs, death and destruction is sure to follow. Just as Israel.
“Muslims and Arab Americans have helped build and strengthen our nation.”
How? Name one thing about this country that is better off since the infestation of Muslim immigrants on our soil.
“American Muslims are not the terrorists some have made them out to be...”
And the people claiming this know it how? The nature of Islam is militancy, against other Muslims, against non Muslims, against women, against common decency, and against other religions. Who knows when that militancy will turn to terror?
“...Christians have done the same. As an example he offers that the worst terrorist attack in the U.S. prior to 9/11 was committed by American Christians in Oklahoma City. He also mentioned the Wisconsin Sikh temple shooting last year in which another Christian, an American white supremacist, fatally shot six people and wounded four others....”
This is nothing but multicultural ignorance and deceit at work. Christianity had nothing to do with the OKC bombing, and lunatics who do violence to others under the guise of Christian faith are actually anti-Christian. The same can’t be said for jihadists.
Islam, like Naziism, Stalinism, Maoism, and Obamaism is a disease of the mind, and like all of its authoritarian cousins, it is extremely dangerous to anyone who doesn’t submit.
I don’t recognize your bullshit “civil right” not to be insulted you camel humping silica Amish douchebags. I have the First Amendment that says I can and the Second to make sure you don’t stop me.

FEISAL ABDUL RAUF | |
Rauf has praised Sheikh Yusuf Al-Qaradawi, a Muslim scholar (associated with the Muslim Brotherhood) who supports Palestinian suicide bombings, as "a very, very well known Islamic jurist, highly regarded all over the Muslim world." He has also expressed respect for the late Egyptian cleric Muhammad Tantawi (who likewise endorsed suicide bombings) and Egypt's Chief Mufti, Sheikh Ali Gomaa (who has endorsed Hezbollah and defended Islam's use of the death penalty for apostasy).
Rauf's book suggests that the “American Constitution and system of governance uphold the core principles of Islamic law” (i.e., sharia). The author concludes, therefore, that the “American political structure is sharia-compliant.” In December 2007 Rauf promoted the book at a Malaysia gathering of Hizb ut Tahrir, an organization that seeks to impose sharia on the United States and other countries worldwide. Rauf depicts jihad as the Islamic world's defensive reaction to Western provocations, rather than as a seminal Islamic tradition of aggression that long predated any Muslim interactions with the West. In March 2004 the Sydney Morning Herald quoted Rauf as saying: “The Islamic method of waging war is not to kill innocent civilians. But it was Christians in World War II who bombed civilians in Dresden and Hiroshima, neither of which were military targets.” In one particularly significant passage, the Herald article stated: “Imam Feisal ... said there could be little progress [in American-Islamic relations] until the U.S. acknowledged backing dictators and the U.S. President gave an 'America Culpa' speech to the Muslim world.” "I'm not a politician. I try to avoid the issues. The issue of terrorism is a very complex question.... I'm a bridge builder. I define my work as a bridge builder. I do not want to be placed, nor do I accept to be placed in a position of being put in a position where I am the target of one side or another." Since 2004, Rauf and ASMA have pursued a project known as the Cordoba Initiative, whose mission is to recapture an “atmosphere of interfaith tolerance and respect” in “Muslim-West relations.” Funded by numerous countries that are members of the Organization of the Islamic Conference, this Initiative aims to build a 13-story, $100 million mosque/Islamic Center just 600 feet from Ground Zero in lower Manhattan. The proposed name of the structure -- "Cordoba House" (or, alternately, "Park 51") -- implies conquest. Indeed, the first Cordoba mosque was built upon the ruins of a Christian church in the Spanish city of Cordoba after the Muslim conquest of Christian Spain in the 8th century AD. (For a detailed discussion of the significance of Cordoba in Islamic history, click here.)
In August 2010, the State Department announced that it would be sending Rauf on a taxpayer-funded trip (costing $16,000) through the Middle East to foster "greater understanding" about Islam and Muslim life in the United States. This was Rauf's fourth U.S.-sponsored trip to the region. The first two took place in 2007 (during the Bush administration), and the third was in early 2010. State Department spokesman Darby Holladay stated that while Rauf "has been advised not to engage in fund-raising activity" during his August 2010 trip, the Department had "no information" regarding the specifics of Rauf's activities while traveling. "The prime factor for the success of the criminal mission known as 9/11 did not come from the quarter known as 'militant Islam,' although the phenomenon known as 'militant Islamic networks' may have played a partial role, or even a less than partial role -- perhaps the role of patsy and scapegoat." "I am certain of a few things," added Khan. "... The towers and WTC 7 could not have collapsed without controlled demolition place from the 'inside.'" In 2006, Khan told a gathering of 9/11 deniers in Chicago that "the most logical explanation" for 9/11 is that the hijackers were working for corporate America and that the heroin trade creates "billions of dollars" that are laundered by "Citicorp and Procter & Gamble." "If we move from that location, the story will be that the radicals have taken over the discourse. The headlines in the Muslim world will be that Islam is under attack. And I'm less concerned by the radicals in America than I'm concerned by the radicals in the Muslim world.... The danger from the radicals in the Muslim world to our national security ... The concern for [i.e., safety of] American citizens who live and work and travel overseas will increasingly be compromised. If the radicals are strengthened, and if we do move [the mosque] it will strengthen the argument of the radicals to recruit, their ability to recruit, and their increasing aggression, violence against our country." During 2010, Jamal Barzinji became became one of a number of noteworthy partners who helped promote Rauf's Cordoba Initiative. |
Death to islamists!
Just finished reading "Religion of Peace?" by Robert Spencer - a very good book - and now I read this crap.
WTH.................?
That only applies to trashing Christianity, Judaism, Israel and America. It says so right in the Federalist Papers./s
Uh oh. I am in trouble, I guess.
What country are we in?
I wonder if it is legal to promote Christianity.
<< If Killian is correct, then the federal civil rights laws violate the U. S. Constitution. > >
Yes, that appears to be what he is saying. This is amazing. If this is what they are claiming, this is huge. Or at least it would be huge to me because I’ve never seen a civil rights law that overrules the 1st Am.
The example Killian gives in that article is some moron who pointed a shotgun at a photo (or some inanimate object) and made a Muslim joke. Even THAT, as crude and evil-sounding as it is, doesn’t seem to fall outside the boundaries of free speech. Actually, that reminds me of all the times liberals put crosshairs on Dubya’s face, at least one of which was on primetime TV.
From that same link:
<< Killian said Internet postings that violate civil rights are subject to federal jurisdiction. Thats what everybody needs to understand, he said. Killian said slide show presentations will be made. >>
I wonder if those slides will be made public. If they’re going to start down this road, they need to start “educating” all of us, preferably BEFORE we get thrown in jail for “civil rights violations.”
jazusamo, thanks for the answer earlier.
So, tell me if I understand this right — pointing out the truth that muslims are abusers of barnyard animals wouldn’t be halal? Screw them and the camel they rode on.
This is a fantastic post. Thank you.
It's kinda' hard to think of THEIR civil rights when TWO OF THEIRS bombed the Boston Marathon, killing three (one an 8-yr old child) and put Boston pretty much on lockdown until the two miscreants were located.
Scores of people, innocently running a marathon, have been scarred for life with lost limbs and now have the memory of two people's evil deeds for the rest of their lives.
Boston Marathon brings on a horrible memory when they had rights to not be killed while running a happy race.
This is outrageous.
Way past time to put the hammer down on INS - they are ineffectual and put our citizens at high risk.
