New York Magazine: 'Michele Bachmann Retires As President of Crazyland' By Noel Sheppard Created 05/29/2013 - 10:39am
With the announcement that Congresswoman Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) will not seek re-election next year, the liberal media are out in force trashing this woman Wednesday.
New York magazine's Jonathan Chait quickly did his part with a piece intelligently titled "Michele Bachmann Retires As President of Crazyland":
Bachmann faced a dire threat of losing reelection. But to think she was chased out of her job is an error born from thinking of Bachmann as merely another member of Congress. Bachmann is more than that: She is President of Crazyland, a title she has jostled for and maintained, in the face of unrelenting intraparty competition, since 2009. In that sense, Bachmann is walking away at the top of her game.
Bachmanns contributions as president were manifold. During her tenure, she alerted the residents of Crazyland to many threats, and thus, presumably prevented them from occurring.
Chait then listed Bachmann's "ten greatest insights as President of Crazyland."
He concluded:
Bachmann's critics say she is making things up. But the truth perhaps is that she is identifying sinister threats to the United States and, as President of Crazyland, thwarting them. The nonexistence of these threats is not proof of Bachmann's insanity. It is proof of her success. Who will protect us now from Census workers using Sharia law to kill us with homosexual Obamacare?
The announcement was made only a few hours ago.
Imagine what other hateful invective is going to spew from Chait's colleagues in the next 24 hours.
Can you think of a Democratic official that was ever so eviscerated by the press when making such an announcement?
Yes, that's a rhetorical question.
God Bless Michele Bachmann.
Michele was and is one of the very best we have.
The Powers that be are threatened by Her, and they spew out this Misogynist hate that the Moronic Voters of this country just eat up.
Very well articulated.
How can they write this and also ignore - Deb Wasserman-Schultz, Sheila Jackson-Lee, Al Franken, and a host of other moon-bat democrats. (The UFO guy that ran for president?)
Bachman is president of crazy-land, really? (She isn’t even an alderman, IMO)
Just like WND, Michele Bachmann means well but at times has problems with the truth.
Pretty easy to sit behind a keyboard and slander someone isn’t it.
Michelle just won by 5000 votes last time around, however I’m not familiar with her district other than it is in crazyland Minnesota.
When Reagan was asked what he wanted for his birthday, he replied, “Minnesota.” It was the only state he lost against Modale in 1984.
The ridicule doesn't have to be legitimate, and never is, but it works because low-information voters are infantile themselves.
FUNYM
Another Leftist offensive against women.
So how did her margin of victory in November barely exceed 1% if the district is strong GOP?
Because in MN we have a particularity nasty, odious form of democrat called the DFL. A putrid mixture of classic big-gov liberal with a large dose of pure marxism. These people don’t drink the kool-aid, they manufacture it.
They put a target on Mrs. Bachmann and made it their sworn duty to focus all of their statewide resources and defeat her. The fact that she won was a pleasant surprise.
She is a lone voice in the wilderness when it comes to our government being compromised and she will not be easily replaced.
Ah, the misogynist liberals exude their hatred for women once again.
MN-CD6 is R+7. It's a good conservative district which elected one very conservative Republican (future Senator Rod Grams) and one pretty conservative Republican (Mark Kennedy) before electing Bachmann four times despite a five-alarm effort by the Donks to target her seat.
I didn’t slander Michele Bachmann. One example of her problem with the truth is that she claimed the HPV vaccine could cause mental retardation. As I said, she means well, but she repeats false or misleading information because she doesn’t always check the facts.
Chait drew considerable attention with his “Case for Bush Hatred”, in which he defended his dislike not only of Bush’s policies but also his personality and mannerisms, including the perceived falseness of the then-president’s political persona.

Of course we know most politicians would never 'shoot from the hip', repeating something they were told without diligently researching for veracity (let alone embellish the truth) so we can say with confidence that Michelle Bachmann does not meet our high high standards for congressional representatives.
Never mind her being one of the staunchest constitutional literalists in congress.
