We've known for weeks the argument made by senior IRS officials that targeting of conservative Tea Party groups was carried out by a "few low-level agents in Cincinnati" is bogus. Now, we have even more proof. NBC News reported last night that the signatures of senior level IRS officials, including that of IRS Tax Exempt Organizations Director Lois Lerner, are on documents that were sent to Tea Party groups asking for more information.
Additional scrutiny of conservative organizations’ activities by the IRS did not solely originate in the agency’s Cincinnati office, with requests for information coming from other offices and often bearing the signatures of higher-ups at the agency, according to attorneys representing some of the targeted groups. At least one letter requesting information about one of the groups bears the signature of Lois Lerner, the suspended director of the IRS Exempt Organizations department in Washington.
ay Sekulow, an attorney representing 27 conservative political advocacy organizations that applied to the Internal Revenue Service for tax-exempt status, provided some of the letters to NBC News. He said the groups’ contacts with the IRS prove that the practices went beyond a few “front line” employees in the Cincinnati office, as the IRS has maintained.
“We've dealt with 15 agents, including tax law specialists -- that's lawyers -- from four different offices, including (the) Treasury (Department) in Washington, D.C.,” Sekulow said. “So the idea that this is a couple of rogue agents in Cincinnati is not correct.”
Among the letters were several that bore return IRS addresses other than Cincinnati, including "Department of the Treasury / Internal Revenue Service / Washington, D.C.," and the signatures of IRS officials higher up the chain. Two letters with "Department of the Treasury / Internal Revenue Service / Washington, D.C." letterhead were signed by "Tax Law Specialist(s)" from Exempt Organizations Technical Group 1 and Technical Group 2. Lerner’s signature, which appeared to be a stamp rather than an actual signature, appeared on a letter requesting additional information from the Ohio Liberty Council Corp.
Lerner has been put on administrative leave after refusing to testify before the House Oversight Committee about the scandal last week. She is still pulling a $180,000 per year, taxpayer funded paycheck. Lerner was the first to publicly admit IRS targeting of conservatives was in fact taking place.

There are two nations within our borders. The first is The United States of America. It follows a Constitution. The second is Democratland. It doesn’t follow a Constitution. The goal of the Democratlanders is to loot the treasury. They have to attack The United States of America in order to do this. The media are mostly Democratlanders and their job is to support the leaders of Democratland. They pretend to be Americans to hide their real work. Which side is going to win?
On another string I read yesterday WH visitor logs indicate the head of the IRS visited the WH, on average, once a week, during O’s first term. Contrast this with the GWB’s two terms where the head of the IRS visited the WH only a couple of times.
In addition to the media being DemLanders you have to also consider that the bureaucracies (IRS, State, EPA, etc.) in DC and elsewhere are infested with this vermin. The people in the IRS who went after Conservative groups did not need to be told, per se, but rather given the chance, they gleefully went after anyone they detested.
Sadly, the argument can be made that they have already won.
No one with a brain doubted this. Unfortunately, our highest office is treated like an emperor, and there will be no justice.

If it’s on NBC that has to mean that the CALLS ARE COMING FROM INSIDE THE HOUSE.
Or in other words, this story is being pushed by other Dems who are trying to force Obama under the bus per their own agendas.
No Republican has the ability to get an outfit like NBC to cover this story.
Keep the name Robert Bauer up front.
It came down thru Bob Bauer the White House General Consul who met with Shulman over 118 times at the Whitehouse.
Then Shulman assigned it to Lerner. This scandal goes all the way back up to the top in the White House.

One thing that has got to be stopped is these commie government bureaucrats using rubber stamps and auto-pens on official documents. That’s bull****!!! It’s their signature but “it doesn’t mean anything” because they didn’t sign it?! That’s the Mother of all CYA Excuses. Why put their name on anything at all if they can use that excuse to easily weasel out of their responsibility and accountability?

That's point 1. Point 2 is simpler. No top end executive in the federal government knows the regulations and procedures well enough to come up with something that's unlawful ~ about all they can do is misinterpret the rules, underestimate the intelligence of the staff, and overestimate how long something will take.
The staffers know what to do, and if the top boss said APPLICATIONS ARE UP, whether they were or not, the GS12/13/14/15 levels who do the work of crafting agency decisions would prepare to streamline the workload so they could get it done with no greater backlog than normal.
It's only AFTER the staff figures out something like this ~ looking for keywords ~ which even a chimpanzee if not an SES or appointee could figure out ~ that somebody at the top will glom onto it for the purpose of 'earning' a bonus.
Point 3 is THE BONUSES WERE GIVEN and WE KNOW WHO GOT THEM. The only thing to be provided by the working level folks are the dates!
