Vice President Joe Biden and Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar in Trinidad and Tobago on Tuesday, May 28, 2012.
(CNSNews.com) - Speaking in Port-of-Spain in Trinidad and Tobago on Tuesday, where he signed a trade agreement with a group of Caribbean nations, Vice President Joe Biden said that 11 million illegal aliens who have chosen to live in the United States "are required to constantly live in fear."
"Do we respect one another? And do we show respect?" said Biden.
The vice president then suggested the United States could show respect to the nations in the Caribbean and, presumably, to nations in other regions of the world, by making "full participants" in U.S. life people who have fled those nations to live by choice in the United States in violation of U.S. immigration laws.
"For my country, that means reforming our immigration system so the 11 million undocumented men, women and many children, who came through no choice of their own, can come out of the shadows and be full participants in American life because they are already in many cases participating and contributing to the growth and prosperity of my country, but required to constantly live in fear and live in the shadows," said Biden.
"Its about time, and the president and I have been calling for this for a long time, even back in the days when he was a senator and I was in the Senate, its about time they're afforded the dignity they deserve," said Biden.
"And respecting your people who are living in my country is part of how we will show respect for you and for quite frankly all of the Americas," said Biden. "But its not just 11 million people in the shadows from the Americas. They're from all over the world. They're from Ireland. They're from Japan. They're from Africa. And its about time. Its about time we reform the system and afford them the dignity they deserve."
Very few nations that would shove an obvious court jester into a relatively important job. Mr. Biden, however, has relegated the position to what Nance Garner referred to 'about as important as a bucket of warm spit'.
Now, as to his remarks to the effect that the millions of illegal criminals live in fear as they suck up the resources of the respective states they slunk into.
Those of us who are citizens of this once great nation live in fear of the IRS and the rest of the apparatus referred to as the Central Socialist Government.
Still only 11 million?
Just in Mexifornia alone, I’d guess.
What fear ? They don’t live in enough fear. This administration cares more about lawbreakers/criminal invaders than they do honest and law-abiding America citizens.
They can always go back to the safety, and generosity of their own Countries.
Or is that what they fear?
So they would come here and suck off America’s good will.
They don’t want to learn to speak English, they don’t want to be citizens, they just want the goodies.
Send them home and send Biden back with them.
No. The 11 million criminals who entered our country illegally are required to go back home. It’s their choice to “live in fear” instead.
I was just thinking the same thing. They have been saying 11 million for at least 10 years. None of them have died? No more have come in?
When Costa Rica, Chile, Peru, Argentina (if it ever recovers from the Marxist) grant me all the rights of citizenship just because I sneaked across the border, plus give me welfare equivalent to someone in the middle quintile of earners in the country, plus invite me to their presidents’ mansions, then we can talk about cross border respect.
Right now it’s insane.
Nonsense! They have the option of going home. GTFOOMC!
I think Old Joe has it a little backwards, but buttforward is normal for him.
Its the millions of legal American citizens and legal resident aliens who live in fear from these foreign invaders.
If only it were true, they always can hire those guys that bring them in to take them back. I am sure they would love to make $$ both ways!
May Fifth is Mexican GO HOME Day.
In their home countries they would be required to work for what they want. Here, all they have to do is sit on their illegal butts and collect a check because obama, Plugs and the dems want their votes. No amnesty!
What does this joke of a public official think about people who would enter other countries illegally? Doesn’t he think they might live in fear as well BECAUSE THEY WERE IN ANOTHER COUNTRY ILLEGALLY!!! What a tool. He thinks it’s a crime that someone who is another country illegally (which happens to be an actual crime) should have to worry about being discovered. Which is why this country is going downhill faster and faster.
There’s that false 11 million figure again, which was based on the 2000 census. It’s likely closer to 30 million now, but Biden and company don’t want people to know that.
Bank robbers constantly live in fear as well. Let’s legalize bank robberies.
"I'm directing Sen Schumer to rename immigration reform:
'The Ariel Castro Respect and Dignity for Latinos Bill.'"
"The IRS will enforce all phases of the bill."
"A separate amendment---'The Tamarlan Tsarneav Memorial
Amendment'---will provide government-issue pressure cookers,
fireworks, and jars of vaseline for tormented Chechneyan
immigrants seeking "asylum" from govt persecution."
That's what this is all about and everyone knows it. It's about Democrats creating a permanent majority comprised of illegal immigrants given immunity.
Look at England. The Labor Party did the same thing. They opened their borders to all sorts of immigrants, mostly muslims, so they could create a permanent majority and it's ripping the country apart.
Democrats care NOTHING for this country. All they care about is gaining power so they can control everyone’s lives, plain and simple
Too Bad, Plugs. They committed a CRIME. Not a crime like You bing in a Vice Presidential office, but a crime where a law was written stating you cannot enter the US without going thru immigration.
Deal with it, you ****.
The only people living in fear here are members of the Tea Party and contributors to Romney’s campaign who are being hounded by the IRS.
