Rep. Michele Bachmann — the tea-party firebrand and former presidential candidate, facing investigations and a daunting reelection race — announced in a video on her website Wednesday morning that she will not seek reelection to a fifth term.
Bachmann, 57, who took office in 2007, says on the video: “My good friends: After a great deal of thought and deliberation, I have decided next year I will not seek a fifth congressional term to represent the wonderful people of the Sixth District of Minnesota. After serious consideration, I am confident that this is the right decision.”

Sad news. Wish McCain would make a similar decision. Much better him than her.
I can understand why she wouldn’t. Who would want to subject themselves and their family to what has been directed at Bachmann and her family? And for what- to forestall the collapse of post-republic America for another year or two?
I wish they all would do that. These were not meant to be lifetime jobs.
She is a great lady. I hope she stays in politics - we need more people like her.
Maybe there is an outside chance she can travel with Palin!! What a team!
Like Palin I’m afraid that the constant MSM barrage has beaten-her up so badly (in particular by making her the butt of bad jokes) that she’s concluded she cannot win.
While that’s a a possibility if she teamed with Palin to get other candidates elected all over the country she and Palin could be an unbeatable team.
She’s the victim of our REPUBLICAN circular firing squad.
We do need to learn to play the game of politics which wins or loses elections, far better than we do now.
I knew we had serious problems when the majority of low-info voters could not distinguish between the real Sarah Palin and the Tina Fey parodies on SNL.
That’s why I won’t contribute to the GOP - only to individual candidates of MY choosing!
Rep. Bachmann understands the problem of Obamanation.

Now revisit, (in thought), the problem awareness of Bachmann and Boehner.
Nobody is more comfortable co-existing with Obamanation than ol’ Blue Eyes Boehner.
Yup, the sorry, clueless, RINOs in The House have put their trust in laid back Boehner, while Bachmann gets ready to be nominated as Allen West’s Veep in 2016, IMHO

Doing the right thing till the end. This will allow another Conservative to win this seat. If she was elected and re-elected 4 times, there is no way the Democrats will pick this seat up.
Maybe she’s going to run for the senate against “Stewart Smiley”.
Its all politics. They have us played like a fiddle. If we don’t figure out what they are doing and what we have to do to counter it all we will keep losing.We need to start setting the agenda. Not responding to theirs. They already know how we will respond.
