There are a lot of possibilities, with the least plausible being the choice of "environmentalists." I see that you're weighing in with the environmentalists, and the EU. Personally, I wouldn't be caught dead in the company of either, but to each his own.

For the record, and for your general knowledge and edification, the 27 countries that make up the EU did NOT agree by a majority vote to ban neonicotinoids. It was the head of the EC who unilaterally decided to ban them even though the science doesn't support such a ban, and even though bee keeper associations are against a ban.

I'll keep sides with those who make their decisions based on sound science rather than those whose every decision is based on politics and a Luddite's fear of chemistry.
