when you stick a microphone in their face their brain stops.

I've always believed that being speaking comfortably & confidently in front of large crowds is a very powerful thing. It can set oneself apart. Most folks hate it.
I actually enjoy it. You just have to keep your wits about you. Some got it....some ain't.

It is definitely an asset. Most people never get a chance to though.

I’m in complete agreement. I love public speaking. I really enjoyed toastmasters back in the day and my forte was table topics.

The microphone in the face thing is a learned skill. Sadly, most people at TEA party events don’t have it.

An old pro told me that a good mental trick to use when speaking to a crowd is to focus your mind on speaking to just one person, be it someone you agree with and want to reinforce or someone you disagree with and want to crush with your comments and enlightenment. (Always works for me)
