SAINT-JEROME, QC - A school board north of Montreal has launched an internal investigation after school staff strip searched 28 high school students to find a cellphone during a year-end exam.
The board admits that staff at Cap-Jeunesse high school in Saint-Jerome, QC, "lacked judgment" for asking 28 Grade 10 students to remove their clothes when a phone went missing last week.
The students were ordered to put their phones on a teacher's desk to prevent cheating during a math exam but one phone was unaccounted for, prompting teachers to order the strip search.
"They put us in a small room," one teenage girl, who didn't give her name, told QMI Agency. "(They said) 'take off your bra, then raise your arms.' They even tapped us on the back."

Sounds like they’ve got left wing teachers’ unions in the Great White North too.
The kids’ parents should watch for their kids’ photos showing up on kiddie porn sites.
You have all the students retrieve their phones. Those who do not is the perp. It done carefully to prevent phone stealing that should work.
Unnecessary to have the bra removed, TSA has proven that a good grope will do the job /s
How do I know but how did they know a phone was missing if they did not know which particular phone it was? If they did know which particular phone it was someone would have had the number.
And the naked children could have been prevented by responsible parents who taught their children that the cell phone stays in the locker.
Suspend the teachers.
From lampposts!

Cripplecreek: Apparently you missed 9/11 and/or have no children. Take your head out of the sand. Parents need to get a hold of kids in a dire emergency like that or natural disaster. No reason the teachers can’t penalize for misuse.
They were looking for clues, because obviously they didn’t have one.
I guess I just had parents who were responsible and taught me the difference between wrong and right. (And yes that includes refusing to strip down for a teacher)
If you don’t and aren’t, you are part of the problem and should consider this conversation at an end.
bump
You would think so, but I bet the unions and schools will try to downplay this as no big deal.
Tens of millions of students went to school for decades without cellphones.
Blah , that’s just Quebec , they even have Language Police ,they check store signs and even check to make sure you name your kids government approved names ,Ivory ( a long story ) LOL
Perverts run wild.
I say outright fire them. If they don’t have any more common sense than that, “You’re outa here!”
Suspending is at least a step in the right direction. I see it as a time to let folks cool off, then quietly reinstate them though.
Well of course. They have the best interests of the students at heart, unlike parents.
“You have all the students retrieve their phones. Those who do not is the perp.”
That makes no sense.
No kidding...
Imagine someone who wasn’t a person of trust asking a sixteen year old to take their clothes off. I’ll bet their principle and their teachers would be demanding their heads.
When it’s them though, oh, it was just a simple misunderstanding.
No, we understand very well what happened here. Someone overstepped their bounds, and did this very likely in part for prurient reasons.
Ha. You are in for it now. There is a whole culture of people who don’t think their kids should ever be more than a finger twitch away.
There is an even bigger culture of people who think your child is fair game
