I heard an interesting interview on a local radio show today with a lawyer who has had some dealings with the Boy Scouts in the past. His take on this situation is that the Boy Scouts have made this change not for political reasons, but under pressure from major corporate donors.
Thirty pieces of silver will do it every time, eh?
They never figured they would lose more than Untied Way threatened to yank, did they.
Who do you think pays the salary of these BSA “Directors”? It’s not much different than politics. These guys/gals working for BSA have mortgages to pay and do what the those with the money want them to do.
BSA Director is a $130,000 job according to the glassdoor salary website. If AT&T pulls their money there will be a lot less “directors” guaranteed.
“... Boy Scouts has ceased to serve any useful function once it has someone on its staff with the title of “Director, Development and Corporate Alliances.”
Excellent point!
“When the fairies are displeased with anybody, they are said to send their elves to pinch them.
The ecclesiastics, when they are displeased with any civil state, make also their elves, that is, superstitious, enchanted subjects, to pinch their princes, by preaching sedition; or one prince, enchanted with promises, to pinch another.”
