LOL. How did this company think it could do something like this without being found out and then tortured by the PC police??? Stopping the tours won’t be enough. The owners are going to have to publicly repent and then will be led down the streets of Harlem wearning dunce caps like a Cultural Revolution political enemy.

The indigents apparently don’t like being called out for what they are—skells living in a craphole area that one upon a time used to be beautiful.

What’s the big deal? Americans go to Europe to visit ruins all the time. Why can’t Europeans visit our ruins?

Why cant Europeans visit our ruins?True, and the advantage of our All-American ruins over theirs is that they can be visited before (shortly, yes) the fall of the civilization that produced them.

Late Buddy of mine transferred out of 82 Engine for Harlem in the late 80s. Wasn’t enough action for his taste.

I've heard the same thing.
Right now there's one busy fire company in NYC (maybe in Bedford Stuyvesant?) that calls itself The Sleepless Knights. LOL.

One of the reasons Ft. Apache got the new name, Little House on the Prairie, was because it became the only building standing for many blocks. Wish I could find an image of it surrounded by blocks of empty, leveled lots.

Real Bronx Tours, which took mostly European tourists from Manhattan to see life in the South Bronx "from a safe distance," issued a statement this week saying it would immediately cease all tours there.Wut?
They realized they needed to get large armored cars? or tanks?

Its not the tours that are illegal in N.Y. its the taking of pictures of the slums. I hope you're not serious!
But that reminds me of the heart attacks I gave a French family when I returned home from a sightseeing walk through a neighborhood not far from La Sorbonne, with my trusted camera, firing away for about 3 hours, puzzled by the Hate America-hate Nixon graffiti everywhere.
It was the koranimal district in Paris at the time (early 70s.)
I should get me a tee shirt that says, "I survived...etc"
