I hope there’s a mass exodus, too. However, I just don’t think it will happen. I think most scouts will compromise, because their membership is more important to them than their principles. I hope I’m wrong, but we’ll see.

As a scoutmaster, I have been torn on how to handle this change. I think the easy thing to do is to pack it in. Unfortunately, we keep doing that and the left keeps advancing on each surrender.
For me, I will not surrender I will not give in one inch. I will be the stone in the shoe of the homosexuals, I will “do my best” to guide other troop leaders that the values you teach come from you, not from some schmucks in Texas.
“Not in my Troop” will be my new standard. The entire world may crash around me, but there will be young men coming out of my troop that we will all be proud of.
Fundraising will go to the troop and not the scouts, and friends of scouting will get a card from me every march with a rainbow painted on it and a reminder of who to call when they want money.
