I went to England once. I did not feel safe there. When in the east end of London it was like being in the middle east, and being an American there was scary in the least. The press there makes ours look like right wing extreemists, and the nightly news was filed with stories of stabbing and beatings. We were warned not to leave our hotel at night as it was not safe on the streets of London.

During WWII the American people freely sent weapons to the British for defense of their country. After the war, they turned them into the government to be dumped in the ocean. That to me seems very reasonable for “subjects” of the crown. I guess it’s the culture.

I do however feel that England is a friend and ally, and it pains me to see Obama diss them at every chance.

1-I feel safe in the UK. I have been the victim of crime once in 25 yrs of adult life. There are parts of the UK that are violent and scary, but by and large its a safe country.

2—Myth. Most US arms were immediately melted down for British war production. The toss in the sea is a postwar myth.

3—British people arent subjects, common mistake. We have been citizens since 1948.
