'A mother and daughter were the 'Angels of Woolwich' who bravely risked their own lives to comfort the soldier left dying in the street.
Gemini Donnelly-Martin, 20, and her mother Amanda, stepped forward and asked the attackers if they could be by Drummer Lee Rigby's side.
Their refusal to be cowed by the terrorists won praise from all quarters, including Downing Street.
Although other bystanders watched in horror and police waited helplessly for armed officers to arrive, Gemini modestly insisted her and her mother were not heroes and had done what anyone else would do.
She told the Daily Mirror: 'We did what anyone would do. We just wanted to take care of the man. It wasn't brave. Anyone would have done it. It had to be done. They (the killers) said women could pass.'
'The only thing people need to worry about is that poor man's mum. We are grateful, though, for what people are saying about us.'
When it became apparent Drummer Lee Rigby was beyond their help, they shielded his body from further desecration by his savage attackers.
Amanda, 44, insisted she be allowed to pray for the dead man even when confronted by one of the killer. Kneeling at his side, she cradled him gently, seemingly unfazed by his horrific wounds.
Yesterday Gemini was back searching for work at a local job fair while her mother did not want to talk about what happened.'

“And of course Britains citizenry is disarmed also.”..
Was it not reported that one of the killers indeed had a gun, along with a knife? Yep, the citizens of Britain are disarmed alright. (Reminds me of Chicago).
I looked up "infence" and didn't find it. Please elaborate or correct, as it looks like you were headed to a worthy point.
According to the stats at the links below one would be almost twice as likely to be a victim of a crime in LONDON than in CHICAGO. wow!

“If people in the US dont like the way the UK does things, dont come.”
Thank you, and if you don’t like sneering Americans, move back to the U.K. Fine by me, no loss.
I went to England once. I did not feel safe there. When in the east end of London it was like being in the middle east, and being an American there was scary in the least. The press there makes ours look like right wing extreemists, and the nightly news was filed with stories of stabbing and beatings. We were warned not to leave our hotel at night as it was not safe on the streets of London.
During WWII the American people freely sent weapons to the British for defense of their country. After the war, they turned them into the government to be dumped in the ocean. That to me seems very reasonable for “subjects” of the crown. I guess it’s the culture.
I do however feel that England is a friend and ally, and it pains me to see Obama diss them at every chance.
The UK have never been a gun owning public on the scale of the US.
Part of it is the nature of the forum as a medium. Most people don't read the whole thread before replying. So if there is something to which they take askance, they'll say answer before observing the context provided by later conversation.
It sucks, but it's just how things are.
I moved back in 2005. And dont regret doing so. Much as I enjoyed your country and its people.
1-I feel safe in the UK. I have been the victim of crime once in 25 yrs of adult life. There are parts of the UK that are violent and scary, but by and large its a safe country.
2—Myth. Most US arms were immediately melted down for British war production. The toss in the sea is a postwar myth.
3—British people arent subjects, common mistake. We have been citizens since 1948.
1-’Im confused why hes bashing fellow conservatives because we question the UKs capitulation to radical Islam.’
That sentence and words 11-16 is why I post.
2-I wouldnt get anything from Morgan. My figures come from many other sources, US, UK and world.
It’s supposed to be influence..I think.
With Churchill it’s hard to say sometimes as he delighted in using words people would have to look up :-)
Serial killers don’t usually use guns, not personal enough or bloody enough, evidently.
This is why Brits are subjects and Americans are citizens. So far.
I had, and nothing came up. Perhaps somebody mistyped the quote.
Wrong.
The British are citizens and have been since 1948.
You’re not a Brit. You’re a Scotsman. Only by force of arms is there a United Kingdom.
God, you know nothing about the UK.
Britain is not England, Britain/UK is England, Scotland, Wales and NI.
Oh and England never conquered Scotland, we JOINED the UK in 1707.
Try actually learning something about the UK.
The UK opened the door to anyone in former Commonwealth nations. This is how your kindness is repaid.
