” Why even pass legislation, if the very act of doing it, reveals you wouldn’t enforce the legislation already on the books?

If you wouldn’t enforce those laws, what makes anyone think you’ll enforce these laws?”

Best point of the day!

I guess that means he will allow it to come up for a vote and will act shocked when it passes

It is about time the House Reps put an end to this farce in the Senate. If the House Reps don’t stop this amnesty, there is no point in having them in charge of the House. We should send them that message.

Only message they are likely to understand.

I gotta wonder why this exact line of thought got so many of us screamed at just a short time ago....

Funny that.

This is all being pushed by the Chamber of Commerce and corporations who want of privatize the profits and socialize the costs read taxpayers.

The "moderate Reps" want more guest workers and they are willing to sell this country out so that they can keep their corporate contributions coming. Both parties have abandoned the American worker.

Wish I could laugh, but things are too serious to joke about the clueless right now.

"But it’s ‘lesser’ watered down evil. And that’s what matters most. Because the dems destroying America with 100% evil is way worse than the GOP destroying it with 99% and only a purist fool would claim otherwise!"

Chicxulub

Which is exactly we need to put an end to the meme that lesser evils are acceptable entirely. That attitude resulted in the crap happening in DC today.

So we either tale it out of the lexicon or get more of it.

The Chamber of Commerce has been on a buying spree!

What I find frustrating is that the House with its Gang of Eight feels the need to do something now. Immigration reform is not a big issue with the American public. Why hand Obama a victory in the midst of these scandals? What's the urgency?

We all know why the Dems want it, i.e., it will make them the permanent majority party. Why are the Reps bent on committing political suicide?

And let's get real about legal immigration. Every ten years we have what amounts to an amnesty. With 1.2 million LEGAL IMMIGRANTS ENTERING ANNUALLY, they will be able to vote eventually and two thirds of them will vote Dem. Illegal immigration is the shiny little bauble that distracts us from the real game changer--legal immigration. The status quo will make the Dems the permanent majority party. Amnesty just hastens the process.

I think even leftists agree: Both parties have the same agenda.

Some would speculate that Boehner is talking amnesty but in fact is engineering a "poison pill" that will make it impossible for Dems to vote for. But even if such a bill passed the House, I don't think what came out of the senate-house reconciliation would take out the "path to citizenship."

Surely Boehner knows that, but he thinks he owes bigger favors to big money interests than to conservatives.

Told the story before on fr but when I was Senior Ed at Off-Road.com back in the late 80s, we were highly involved in landuse issues for obvious reasons. Most of the places we fought for then are off limits to most activities today, motorized and not, because many off-roaders were willing to give in to the incrimentalism used by the eco groups.

They accepted ‘lesser evils’ by agreeing to shut down this or that trail in exchange for another elsewhere staying open.

They got both closed when the ecos came back with ‘border zones’ and other crap. Then they compromised their ‘purity’ again and again and again.

And then as today, people with my view were shouted down and told we were the problem...

But we weren’t were we. We were right and the land got closed.

Something to ponder.
