IRS tea-party bloodbath continues ...., as evidence emerges that IRS's own internal probe ....

Tempers flared in a House Oversight and Government Reform Committee hearing Wednesday, with members on both sides of the aisle castigating the Internal Revenue Service for targeting conservative groups with special scrutiny, and then hiding the practice from Congress.

Rep. Darrel Issa, the committee's chairman, said that the committee learned just yesterday that the IRS completed its own investigation a year before a Treasury Department Inspector General report was completed.

But despite the IRS recognizing in May 2012 that its employees were treating right-wing groups differently from other organizations, Issa said, IRS personnel withheld those conclusions from legislators.

'Just yesterday the committee interviewed Holly Paz, the director of exempt organizations, rulings and agreements, division of the IRS,' Issa said. 'While a tremendous amount of attention is centered about the Inspector General's report, or investigation, the committee has learned from Ms. Paz that she in fact participated in an IRS internal investigation that concluded in May of 2012 - May 3 of 2012 - and found essentially the same thing that Mr. George found more than a year later.'

IRS tea-party bloodbath continues in Congress, as evidence emerges that IRS's own internal probe ended in May 2012, six months before election, but was hidden from legislators

Just like untying a huge knot isn’t it?

Wrong turns, lose ends, strange discoveries and suddenly one day it all becomes so clear.

I still wonder what this is distracting us from that is even worse? What are they trying to hide by overwhelming the system with this spectacle?

Here’s the issue at hand. The best tactic right now for the administration would normally be to appoint a special prosecutor and suddenly things would get quiet overnight. However, look at the timing. New guy walks in...spend six to nine months developing leads, and starts prosecuting in spring of 2014, as election season starts. News cycle goes into turbo mode and Democrats across the country....even guys running for county dog-catcher....can’t avoid all the negative press in May and June of 2014.

Every week that goes by....gets more and more of this story out into the public. But the solution would be twice that bad.

If they follow the trail far enough it will go all the way to the top!

Pushing amnesty while we're all on the scandals.

“I still wonder what this is distracting us from that is even worse? What are they trying to hide by overwhelming the system with this spectacle?”

A valid question.

All of a sudden we have an avalanche of scandals and revelations that I don’t think anyone imagined. Just guessing but watch out for the agenda 21 crowd.

Dunno. Can’t predict. It could be all the way forgotten by then or or a swirling soup. It’s a swirling soup now but nobody has taken any kind of fall. The spec prosecutor route might very well play out as you paint. Yet as you also paint, the admin isn’t exactly into proactiveness. Who knows, maybe they like this outrage as a fine chaos generator? I think they will take their time isolating the ones to be thrown under the bus, then announce their butts are clean. I think they have to see how badly they have offended the press with the AP & the Fox intrusions and who they can count on to forgive them. That, I believe, would me the tendency of the MSM. Time passes, the media gets back on the admin’s side, and they are unquestionably better off. Meanwhile, some other shiny-object crisis, perhaps even a war or a false flag (’scuse the tin) terror attack staged to elevate the public opinion of 0bama, could make things better for him. As things are, I believe the Reps would win the Senate and pick up many seats in the house. And that is intolerable.

Lots of moving parts.

If they planned all of this to come at the same time....it is amazing.

I don;t think they had any control over the Benghazi attack.

“A few might stick it out, but guys like McCain, Graham, Toomey, Hatch and others will be back to having lunch with their Dem friends before the week is out.”

If and when a special prosecutor is named, the individual will be an esteemed left wing professor at Harvard or Yale Law School whose progressive credentials will be beyond reproach. This person will be warmly endorsed by the American Bar Association. McCain, Graham, Hatch and the other RINO’s will congratulate Obama for his pick.

The Marxist professor will do a cursory investigation, hang the hole affair on a few low level employees and exonerate the higher ups as not involved. The press will then question what the fuss was all about and bash the Tea Party for wasting government resources on a costly and unnecessary investigation.

I don’t think they had control over Beghazi and you could say they were caught horribly flatfooted once the attack began...but barring the tin theories about offing their own representative over the arm-Al-Queda/Syr opposition directive, IMO it was foolish to remain complacent over the 9/11/01 anniversary wrt security. It is possible that whatever security that might have been provided may not have been enough. IOW, the 4 dead may have ended up dead anyway and we would have killed a lot more Arabs.

I do not think any kind of macro planning was applied to the emergence of these scandals. I think the dam just broke.
