If you paid attention to the Live thread you would have seen that I called it exactly as it played out. AND I SAID, there would be people in the back checking it out while the rest of the testimony was going on.

I noted on the live thread that patience is difficult right now but Issa has come up with a two-fer here.

He got Lerner to waive her Fifth Amendment rights while also getting her claiming the fifth, which is a double shot of excellent proportions.

His excusing of Lerner (for the time being) also opened up the questioning of Shulman, which established, on the record, a pipeline from the IRS to the White House during the period of Tea Party targeting. That’s a pretty good day at the office if you ask me.

Posters on this thread and others are trying to give Gowdy more credit than I am based on his experience as a prosecutor. The rules of evidence and testimony for the House aren't necessarily the same as civil and criminal court. Plus if one has to make an argument it is best to have researched as to cite rules and precedent while doing so.
