My personal favorite of all the new revelations from the Obama IRS scandal is that White House Counsel Kathryn Ruemmler told White House Chief of Staff Denis McDonough about the impending IRS inspector general report, but of course the White House chief of staff did not tell the president..................It keeps getting worse for Team Obama
To: mandaladon
I sat in a White House chief of staffs office every day for more than two years. The only reason the legal counsel would tell the chief of staff about an impending report or disclosure would be so the chief of staff could tell the president. .....................But Zero knows nothing

I give it 50/50 that one is appointed.
But not till after the mid terms next year.

I’d be more impressed if I thought they didn’t realize full well who would appoint the special prosecutor. “No, don’t throw me into the briar patch!”

As a general rule you do not want to be the political focal point in late May or early June since that will be the big story all summer long ~ that ends September 21.
Michelle is reported to have planned an extended vacation

Perhaps I’m certifiably paranoid but I believe the IRS revelations were timed to divert attention from Bengazi. The IRS matter can be resolved by firing mid level managers; Bengazi will keep Hillary out of the white house in 2016. Keep your eyes on the prize, it’s not the IRS.

This year ~ Issa just did what the prosecutor did in the case of I. Lewis “Scooter” Libby ~ he focused in on a Jewish favorite of the prevailing political elite, and got his one successful prosecution. Lois Lerner will now learn what Scooter discovered ~ that both the Democrat and Republican elites consider such people to be more than fair game ~ bet her hubby is not happy at all!

The Republican congress needs to go after the IRS scandal like a pit bull. Stay on point and make that priority number one vs. writing new bills that costs tax payers more money. Spinning this off to a special prosecutor or committee will only allow this administration to go in to full stall mode. When that happens the outcome is inevitable, NOTHING!!!!!

If they keep taking the 5th, there will be no choice but I’m not sure Holder will cooperate.

Ultimately these scandals serve to distract while immigration goes through. Game set and match
But, a special prosecutor is not independent and is accountable to the executive branch and the DOJ — So good luck with that.

Not to mention, the White House all the while could blast the appointed counsel as a partisan ideologue à la the hatchet job that was done on Ken Starr... If [Obama] and his White House already have too much to hide, then they must clam up, cry partisanship and hope their allies on the Hill and in the media have the stamina for the long haul... This is exactly why I'm afraid of a special prosecutor in any of these events. I think it's got to come out right away, right now. Holder should be removed, and then the Attorney General's office should file charges.
