Minnesota U.S. Sen. Al Franken leads all potential GOP opponents by comfortable double-digit margins, according to a Public Policy Polling survey released Tuesday. Among those tested by the Democratic polling firm was U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann, who he leads 55-38, a 17 point margin. Franken leads conservative talk show host Jason Lewis by the same 17 point margin (54-37), as well as state Sen. Julianne Ortman (52-35). Narrowing the gap slightly against the first-term senator were businessman Mike McFadden and Hennepin County Sheriff Rich Stanek, who came within 15 points apiece (both at 51-36). Sen. Julie Rosen trailed by 16 points (52-36). Overall, Franken weighed in with a 51 percent approval rating, while 42 of voters disapprove. (His approval rating is 6 points better than President Obamas in the state). One of the reasons for Frankens commanding lead in the early going is the low-profile of the potential GOP field. That is actually a sign of hope for the Republicans. Because of the low profile of the potential GOP candidates they do have a good amount of room to grow against Franken, the pollsters concluded, although he's certainly a clear favorite at any rate.

Me neither. And I grew up here...
Not until after I’ve moved out of State again. Targeting South Dakota right now.
Moved back here because of family. Now I want to leave again for the same reason...
Screw the polls.
This is why we have campaigns.
It’s also why our SoS doesn’t care who votes, as long he gets to count the votes, certify the over-votes, ignore registration irregularities, and refuse to allow absentee ballots from the military to be counted...
Her negatives are too high in MN. She can barely hold her GOP House seat. Running against that diseased Frankenstein would be handing him a 15% victory. I’m not a fan of Pawlenty, but he’d be a better choice to run.
Pawlenty? He's barely a "republican" much less any kind of TEA Party/conservative type.
And... a rapidly increasing Somali muslim demographic. I highly doubt those folks will be touchscreening for the GOPers on their ballot.
Or in a 6'x6' solitary confinement box at a FEMA camp.
Who did they poll? The Somalis soon to be granted amnesty?
“... I guess that’s why his radio show was pulled “
I listened to him yesterday on his nationwide broadcast, did they “pull” his show last night?
Jason has a better grasp of Constitutional principles than at least 90% of our currently sitting Senators. He's a far sight more "conservative" too.
Maybe he’s still on in your area. He was removed from my local south bend talk station about 3 months ago. I assumed he announced he was running for Senate and they pulled his show. It must have just be a programming decision for the SB station case. Too bad cause he was one of my favs.

Doesn’t matter how excellent her voting record is, she can’t win statewide in MN. She could barely hold her GOP House seat. Pawlenty has at least won statewide twice. At this point, we’re not going to get a Tea Party type out of MN. Better someone who will vote our way 75% of the time than 0% like Frankenstein.
Her opposition out-spent her 2:1 and had the local liberal media against her. AND SHE STILL WON.
That says a lot.
Governor "Green Jeans" and his ethanol subsidies policies are still screwing with us even without him in Office.
Jason would destroy Franken in a head-to-head debate. There would be NO way for the local media to spin it. Unlike the Coleman debacle.
You don't run a "moderate" against a Leftist in this State and expect to win. You run a conservative who can articulate the message and you CAN win. I live in Wright County, the most conservative county in the State, we stand as proof of this. Don't jettison the Base and we'll show up at the polls for you.
When we went over twenty years without electing a Democrat governor. Unfortunately for us, our state party is in disarray and the weakness of Romney as a national candidate didn't help us last year. A study of Minnesota politics would reveal that the last Dem governor we had before Marx Dayton was Rudy Perpich in the 1980s. It would also reveal Republican control of both houses of the Legislature as recently as two years ago.
Glad to "help you out".
Redistricting was also not kind to Bachmann. It also wasn't kind to Chip Craavack, who lost CD-8 which he won two years previous.
I think he’s on Genesis network. National. If your local station switched programming, that could explain it.
