Junk Science: Despite no evidence that devastating tornadoes have increased in frequency or intensity due to fossil fuel use, another warm-monger blames the Moore, Okla., disaster on GOP "polluters and deniers."
Sheldon Whitehouse, D-R.I., thought the devastation of Moore was a crisis that should not be wasted as he took to the Senate floor Monday to rail against his Republican colleagues for denying the theory of anthropogenic (man-caused) global warming (known by its acronym, AGW).
Other Democratic leaders like Al Gore, who profited handsomely off the manufactured hysteria, and President Obama, who promised the sea level would stop rising and the planet would begin to heal upon his election, have exploited every natural disaster, such as Superstorm Sandy, as proof that fossil-fuel pollution is leading us to planetary doom.
Whitehouse's rant was epic. "So, you may have a question for me," Whitehouse said. "Why do you care? Why do you, Sheldon Whitehouse, Democrat of Rhode Island, care if we Republicans run off the climate cliff like a bunch of proverbial lemmings and disgrace ourselves? I'll tell you why. We're stuck in this together. We are stuck in this together. When cyclones tear up Oklahoma and hurricanes swamp Alabama and wildfires scorch Texas, you come to us, the rest of the country, for billions of dollars to recover. And the damage that your polluters and deniers are doing doesn't just hit Oklahoma and Alabama and Texas."
Whitehouse went on to blame AGW for floods, storms, dying forests and acidified sea, stopping just this side of plagues of locusts.
We do have a question for him: Why are you, Sen. Whitehouse, politicizing this tragedy without one shred of scientific evidence to back you up?

I said it before I’ll say it again. That guy needs to be drug tested.
The arrogance of these politicians in thinking that they can affect global climate by passing a convoluted tax increase is just astounding.

The Honorable Gentleman from Rhode Island is a moron. This has been a relatively light tornado season. OK City is in a tornado prone area, it was hit with one like this in 1999, how does he explain that?
Sheldon Whitehouse is an embarrassment to the corrupt state of Rhode Island!
Wot an Idiot!
Shouldn't politicians have to have an IQ at least in the double digits?!?!?!
Evidence isn’t needed for bad theory, and those who would use it to control the rest of us.
It was White people’s fault?
He’s SO worried about the “billions of dollars to recover”.
Funny he’s not worried about the 700 TRILLION that cap n’ trad taxes and laws would cost us if put into effect.
Besides, when did an extreme Leftist/Communist politician ever care about wasting billions of dollars? They do it with the stroke of a pen almost daily.
I think the next theory is that Oompa Loompas from the part of Middle Earth where man-bear-pig says it's “millions of degrees” are the real cause of it. Or perhaps the Morlocks.
Hard to tell. The Climate Change/Global Warming/Global Cooling/Disruptification hucksters change their stories so often that it's hard to keep up with their lies.
Their logic is that since Conservatives and Republicans are for smaller government and reduced spending they don't deserve any kind of aid.
I challenge Freepers to look around and read some of the comments floating about. This guys view point among the left is more widespread then you think and they are not just blaming the GOP and Conservatives for the tornado, but they don't think Conservative districts are even deserving of aid.
Every time I think that the Left in the country couldn't possibly stoop any lower......they DO.
He is an embaressment.
Probably expected this from your home team, but there are single cell amoeba in a pile of poo that are rightfully offended.. :)
Can't believe there are still "people in charge" that believe in AGW.
Here is a true story. I was at The Tulane University graduation ceremony in New Orleans when Presidents Bush Sr and Clinton were there to give speeches. This was right after Katrina when those two were hanging out together.
Bush’s speech was good, had class, and was interesting.
When Clinton got up to speak he started by saying Katrina was caused by global warming which started THIS DECADE which means he blamed it on W. Global warming apparently did not exist during Clintons era. He claimed that we would see many devastating hurricanes from then on due to what W caused. It was the most disgusting speech I had ever heard.
When his followers stood up to cheer him on I just remained seated. Many others did the same thing. .
