Why would we want to give the opposition in Syria anti-aircraft missiles to shoot down Syrian aircraft? What would our national interest be in doing that?
Hillary Clinton is getting a big payoff to write a book that will sell maybe 5,000 copies. I’ve read the amount she is being paid is somewhere between $14,000,000 and $25,000,000. No rational book publisher could afford to lose that kind of money. How hard is it for people to figure out that this money is a payoff to her? Where is this money coming from? Follow the money!

There is disinforamtion being seeded into the air. What is more likely is —given that the Turkish ambassador dined at the compound with Stevens right before the attacks— that Stevens was looking for the Turks to ferry weaponry to the Muzzie Brotherhood, for use against Israel. Al Qaeda got wind of it and decdied to stop that mission cold. Turkey is a friend of the MB and not al qaeda, so the false meme that Turkey would ship MANPADS to al qaeda fighting Syria is most unlikely. As you say, likely what was planned and Stevens was sent to carry out was shipping Qaddafi’s soviet supplied weaponry to the MB to aid against Israel.
Meanwhile, back in Obama’s America, don’t call Libya’s weapon recovery program “buyback” that then Secretary of State Hillary Clinton funded using $40 million of your tax dollars after the Obama—Clinton regime toppled Col. Muammar Gaddafi because if you do, the State Department will deny it exists. You can however refer to it as the MANPAD program—Man-Portable-Air-Defense Systems or shoulder-fired-anti-aircraft missiles that the U.S. is “helping” Libya to recover and secure among its weapon stockpiles.
Yes, we have entered the smoke and mirror stage of the absurd by playing word games with the State Department now.
Why is getting the status and inventory of Libya’s weapons recovery program so critical? Because arms from Libya have shown up in Syria. As the Wall Street Journal reported: “The U.S. effort in Benghazi was at its heart a CIA operation,” and the State Department presence in Benghazi “provided diplomatic cover” to conceal weapon transfers from Libya to Syria.
Is that why all my Freedom of Information (FOIA) requests regarding Ambassador Christopher Stevens meeting with Turkish Consul General Ali Sait Akin before he was murdered have been denied?
Don’t think the terrorist attack in Benghazi that killed Ambassador Christopher Stevens, Tyrone Woods, Glen Doherty and Sean Smith as Watergate, think bigger, think Iran Contra....

I absolutely believe the State Department role in this, I just can’t believe that the missiles were actually American. it’s much much more likely that the they were Chinese.
These are little technicalities that will permit lefties to deny this huuuuge scandal

But we are also reading that Israel and Turkey are about to launch a joint program to build an undersea pipeline to ship natural gas to Turkey and then on to Europe.
This crossed my mind also.
I have no doubt that the Regime intended for the missile end users to be Syrians fighting Assad. But the notion that there would be few missile diversions or that all these nuts were going to form up, cut their hair and take orders from a pampered black guy is RIDICULOUS IN THE EXTREME.
They had and now have an unrealistic view of their ability to shape a VERY volatile state of affairs.
There is no national interest, but Barack Obama's interests and Hillary Clinton's interests are not the same as the national interest. Obama seeks to assist the Muslim Brotherhood in taking Syria as it has taken Egypt and L:ibya already. Anti-aircraft (and anti-tank and anti-hummer) misslies would help level the playing field for the rebels against the army. Hillary Clinton simply wants to be President...

Beck has claimed since the first day that this was about guns, looks like he was right. Even Rush has alluded to gun running.
Waiting until the next election is not very helpful, at least not to the Republic.
