Move! Our family relocated from Dayton after the 67-68 race riots in Dayton. Yes, that is what they were called. Dayton, Ohio had a tax base of 1,250 million but today it is under 340,000; I read here at Free Republic recently that over 7,000 buildings are abandoned in Dayton. The city went on to elect a Black Mayor who cussed on Local TV and was a high school drop out. There are more than one level within black culture, but at the street level it is mob rule; at more middle class levels it is so intertwined with the violent levels as to make discussion of crime simply racism. Move. Move. Move.

Damn Jumper. Me too. First to Xenia, then the tornado chased us to Texas.
I grew up in Dayton in the 50s and could not ask for a better place to grow up. It really was American Graffiti. The last time I was there, I damn near cried.
