Is Motor City getting its mojo back?
After years of losing loyal customers frustrated by quality and reliability problems, domestic automakers are showing a new-found focus on customer service that is winning back skeptics boosting sales, market share and profits.

None for me, thanks all the same. If the UAW built it, I won’t even consider buying itand anyway, the Japanese make better cars.
In recent years I’ve made it a point to avoid buying stuff made in China and by this country’s Communist unions whenever possible.I’ve been successful in terms of motor vehicles since 1990.Every car I’ve bought since then has been made in Japan or Germany and not one was sold by the “Big Three”.
I own a 1969 F-150 that I will never sell. But my daily driver is German.
NBC? Can we find a reputable source on this?
Good question.
‘Mark Reuss, president of GMs North American operations, admits the maker long was producing crappy cars. ‘
Good to know.
Apparently not:

This car reliability study measures problems experienced during the past 12 months by original owners of three-year-old (2010 model year) vehicles...
Mine’s a 91.
A Bavarian Murder Weapon ? or a Chrysler Killer.
BINGO !!!

I love my truck but one thing I really like. It is 100% exempt from all of the Peoples’ Republik of Kalifornia emission control standards. The cutoff year is 1976; anything older is exempt. :-)
My cousin had a 52 Ford pick up (?) that came factory equipped with 1 tail light that was legal with a classic plate and proper hand signals.
In the early 2000's 2004ish to 2006-ish, the quality was their, it was the Big Talk of the NAIAS in Detroit and Paul W. Smith was on a screed about. The Engineers were tear-@$$ because they knew they had an equal product but dip-wads like Thomas Friedman came to the NAIAS and made fun of the Excursion and couldn't see the forest through the trees.
The bottom line is quality and engineering has been their for a while, it has just taken the lame streams eons to notice, ( Note many from certain Blue areas of the Country will still never Notice) either that or they want to get aboard the The New Chrysler IPO and are talking things up, yes I am that cynical...
I love the “holier than thou” folks who buy Japanese or German vehicles due to the evil UAW.
I see nothing noble about supporting communist foreign unions and foreign corporations who give a large percentage of your purchase price to a socialist government.
So, please spare me the “my vehicle is more pure than your vehicle” pablum.
All vehicles are more reliable these days. Someone who wants a compact can pretty pick any of the five or even ten best sellers and not make too big a mistake. Same with mid-size cars.
