Kaitlyn Hunt, 18, had her entire life before her. Graduation. College. Job prospects. The high school senior was just preparing to start her life when she found herself expelled and slapped with criminal charges over her engagement in a same-sex relationship. And what started as a relationship between two young women has snowballed into a legal battle that could land Hunt in prison.
The story has many twists, turns and oddities. And so far, only one side that of Hunt family is being told. The high school senior apparently met her girlfriend, who is now 15-years-old, on the school basketball team at Sebastian River High School in Sebastian, Florida; the two began dating at the beginning of the school year.

Key word here is "married". With, presumably, parental consent and approval of the character of the groom.
You are incorrect. Ephebophilia is an attraction to postpubescent teens by an older adult. There is nothing unusual or immoral about an attraction to someone within two or three years of one’s own age, especially in the teen years, of course, that would be regarding hetersexual relationships as for as my own morality goes, but I doubt that the definition changes for homosexuals/lesbians.
Houmatt is a FReeper in good standing, for over a decade. You are a newbie troll, defending the homosexual molestation of a minor, and bad mouthing the victim’s parents for protecting their child. As you have repeatedly been told, you are on the wrong site.
You had sex with three different seniors during your sophomore year? That certainly doesn't speak very highly of your morals, although it does explain a lot about your apparent attitude about this case...
This girl’s actions were legal the day before they were not legal. You don’t have a problem with laws written this way? STUPIDLY WRITTEN LAWS?
And by the way, I’m a Christian grandmother, but there is nothing what these parents are doing that is Christian. They couldn’t control their own daughter, so now they will attempt to ruin this other girl’s life, while dragging their own daughter’s name through the mud. If she is speaking to them in ten years I’d be very surprised. Very.
“I would assume she isnt equipped with the equipment to sexually penetrate and therefore not capable of sealing the deal.”
Had a gay girl tell me, “Silly! That’s what fingers are for!”
Actually, the mother of the other girl seems like a kook. Zero parenting skills, apparently. She certainly did nothing to protect her daughter, but she is not actively trying to ruin someone else’s life, either.
Actually, I was a virgin when I got married, but I did kiss them. :) I grew up in the dark ages. I was married before age twenty-one. :)
Think again. A few weeks ago there was an article on FR that was about just that, an 18 yo high school boy who was having sex with and under age girl at the same school. He was busted and charged.
You may very well be a Christian, as you claim, but there is nothing Christian about allowing the homosexual molestation of a child God has entrusted you with.
Let me guess - Episcopal? UCC? United Methodist? Presbyterian? Or one of the other mainline "Christian" denominations that are Christian in name only these days? I suppose the "Christian" thing for the parents to do would have been to have supported the sinful conduct of their child and to acquiesce to having an adult female sexually molest their child. Maybe they should have even provided them with a bedroom for their sexual antics?
You certainly have a right to your strange opinions, but please don't try to give them respectability by trying to hang a "Christian" label on them...
Why is that it is only the control of the younger girl that is at issue? The parents of the older girl didn’t control and protect her. I had a BIG talk with my son when he turned 18, I printed out the law for him. If he dated anybody that wasn’t his age, I wanted approval from her parents.
Then they should control their daughter, shouldn’t they?
Again, I repeat. The laws should be about an actual age difference, not a difference that is legal one day and then illegal the next. It’s very stupidly written.
Get your stories straight. You claimed that three seniors should have been arrested for the sex you had with them when you were a sophomore. Now you claim you regained your virginity in time to get married?
Congratulations. Then your previous statement about your senior boyfriends is absolutely irrelevant to this discussion, since this is a case of illegal sexual relationships, and yours were not sexual relationships. Hence, your boyfriends were never in danger of being arrested.
Catholic, pro-life, pro-marriage, against divorce, against gay marriage. Enough kids to field a basketball team and then some. :)
I can spot an injustice when I see one, however, and am not blinded by my own hatred of people with whom I have moral disagreements so much that I would ruin the life of a girl who just turned eighteen.
If you agree that the younger girl’s parents should have control over their daughter’s sexual activities, why do you object to them having the legal authority? And if you insist that the girl and the woman are close enough in age to be considered equal partners, why should only one of them be subject to parental control? Is it that you recognize that one is an adult and the other one is a minor?
Ok, so it’s not a felon to kiss a fifteen year old girl when you’re eighteen.
It should be if your twenty-eight, though.

I’d like to see that, if you have the link. Thanks!
Yeah, us damned bitter clingers always gotta be hating on folks!
