Kaitlyn Hunt, 18, had her entire life before her. Graduation. College. Job prospects. The high school senior was just preparing to start her life when she found herself expelled and slapped with criminal charges over her engagement in a same-sex relationship. And what started as a relationship between two young women has snowballed into a legal battle that could land Hunt in prison.
The story has many twists, turns and oddities. And so far, only one side that of Hunt family is being told. The high school senior apparently met her girlfriend, who is now 15-years-old, on the school basketball team at Sebastian River High School in Sebastian, Florida; the two began dating at the beginning of the school year.

I support her being treated like any other sex offender (rapist or child molester), where in a perfect world means life without parole.
I don't care to hear about how this girl's life could be destroyed. She could have chosen to keep her hands off of a 15-year-old girl for three years until she turned 18, the legal of age of consent in Florida. But she didn't, and that's not my problem.
You’re right.
The parents who brought the legal system into this are dispicable, imo.
They can’t control their own daughter, so they WAIT until her girlfriend - cough cough - turns eighteen, and then bring charges against her. Lowest of the low, imo.
Apparently, the three guys I dated in high school when they were seniors and I was a sophomore should have been convicted felons all this time.
Who knew?
The gays have been waiting for a case like this, one of their primary goals is lowering the age of consent.
By this definition, I was in a long-term relationship starting in 1969 when we were both in high school. I was 18 and she was 14. This continued until we both graduated from college and got married. Would you rather we be married for what amounted to 25.5 years, fostered 2 children and 4 grandchildren, or should I still be in jail?
Thank you so much for saying it. I am getting a little heated with it, as well.
And anything other than yes or no will be considered a yes and then you can be assured you and your fellow pedophile apologists will not have a moment's peace anywhere in the world of FR.
Who knew you were a pedophile apologist?
“Incorrect. This is ephebophilia not pedophilia. Pederasty involves males, not females.”
It is neither. It is a high school romance of the lesbian variety. Parents couldn’t control their own daughter, so decided to make it a legal issue once the older girl turned eighteen. FOR SHAME. Now, they’ve dragged their own daughter through the mud. Way to go, parents. Yay! Good job! Way to protect your daughter. :(
On the flip side, however, the left and their political/social agenda have made it harder for parents to “control” their kids, and they’re doing it on purpose.
Have you read the “UN Rights of the Child” treaty?
It pretty much says the parents can have NO say in whom their kids associate with.
You are on the wrong website.
You are sick, pal. Get some help.
I’m reminded of liberals’ attempt to dodge accountability for Benghazi. “It’s too soon to judge our behavior, and besides that was a long time ago.”
If 3 years is a short time difference in age, then it’s a short time to wait until they can legally engage in sexual activity.
Incorrect. The crime here is ephebophilia by legal definition.
They couldn't get the cops involved until she was 18 - up to that point, it wasn't a crime, I believe.
“Who knew that this was pedophilia?”
IT’S NOT!
There’s not enough of an age difference for it to even have a name! It’s not any of the “philias!” Parents of the younger lesbian can’t control their daughter, and want to blame the other girl, but in the the meantime, out their daughter in her own sinful ways. Good grief.
You can "sexually penetrate" a person in many ways - fingers, inanimate objects, etc. One does not require a working penis to "seal the deal" in this case.
You’re a jerk, and you’re no pal.
The parents of the older girl admit they knew of the relationship. Did they not talk to the parents of the other girl to see if it was OK with them? The parents of the older girl failed to control their daughter, too.
