Kaitlyn Hunt, 18, had her entire life before her. Graduation. College. Job prospects. The high school senior was just preparing to start her life when she found herself expelled and slapped with criminal charges over her engagement in a same-sex relationship. And what started as a relationship between two young women has snowballed into a legal battle that could land Hunt in prison.
The story has many twists, turns and oddities. And so far, only one side that of Hunt family is being told. The high school senior apparently met her girlfriend, who is now 15-years-old, on the school basketball team at Sebastian River High School in Sebastian, Florida; the two began dating at the beginning of the school year.

You, on the other hand, call yourself a Christian grandmother. A grandmother you might be, but Christian? That's questionable. Jesus Christ Himself said it is better to put a millstone around your neck and toss yourself into the sea than harm a child. And that is what this 15-year-old is.
Further, for you to find fault in the girl's parents to do what was legally viable to protect their daughter instead of giving her carte blanche says much more about you than the parents. A parent wants to protect their child, not toss them to the wolves. That's why we are having the problems we are with today's kids in the first place: We don't discipline. We don't protect.
For you to rationalize or defend any of this is despicable. How dare you.
No, it is because one set of parents, in attempting to exert authority over their own daughter, chose to act to ruin the life of another girl (whose own parents are apparently too liberal to have probably ever attempted to exert authority over her).
What these parents did is not Christian. Their hatred and lack of control over their own daughter has allowed them to act without grace. Jesus, Pope Francis, my own priest, the local Baptist minister...I just don’t see any of them saying “Oh, just wait until she turns eighteen. Then you can get her!” For shame.

This rapist KNEW the parents were against it. She had NO BUSINESS committing homosexual rape on a younger girl. YOU should be ashamed at what you are defending!!
WOW, so she has a daughter who is a child molester and instead of looking at herself and her daughter she blames the other parents.
It reminds me of a few weeks ago when a young girl hit me in the chest with her bag she was swinging about.
I looked at the young girl and carried on. Her mother tapped me on the shoulder and said :you do know that is was an accident right?
I replied yes but I never heard her say sorry nor you.
The look on this woman was as if she had her house and car stolen and told no more welfare for her life
Such filthy things you say about Christians obeying God! What is wrong with you? How many children are you subjecting to the sexually abusive upbringing you advocate here?
In the society and culture Jesus grew up in you were an adult at 13.
So...you can read the hearts and minds of your fellow human beings. Impressive. Have you told that to God, yet...that you are happy to do his job?
I realize this is not the Religion Forum, but could you please weigh in on Free Republic’s position on homosexual molestation of children, and a newbie troll bad mouthing Christians for trying to raise their children according to God’s laws? Thank you.
Tell me where it says you can do whatever you want and I am supposed to tolerate it and then you can talk that way all you want.
What does that have to do with anything??
When Jesus said “child” he probably didn’t mean anyone under 18 years old. He probably meant an actual child. Kind of like how “children killed by guns” includes mostly teenagers, many of whom were utilizing the gun in the commission of a crime.
See, this is what is wrong with making comments before you know all of the facts. According to another article, the girls did not start "dating" until after the older girl had turned 18. The parents of the younger girl were notified by the girls basketball coach as soon as he/she found out about it, and the parents notified the police immediately. So this is not a case of the parents waiting until the older girl had turned 18. Instead, as soon as they learned of the sexual relationship, they involved the police.

Your overreaching makes you look foolish, but apparently this thread has attracted a few of you.
My children were brought up in a Catholic, moral home. They’re all conservative, law-abiding, pro-life young adults, and have blessed me with lovely grandchildren.
And yes, I do think it is wrong to criminalize a just turned eighteen year old girl for being unable to control your own daughter. If I had to ruin the life of another young person in order to control my own household I would feel like I’ve done something terribly, terribly wrong.
“In the society and culture Jesus grew up in you were an adult at 13.”
Your past comment was meant merely as a non-sequitur in an attempt to change the subject.
Every post you make that does not address the true, actual subject at hand shall be ignored. Good day.
I can't speak for subterfuge, but in my eyes that was a marriage.
I think you’re thinking of Mike Hunt....
Sorry you object to the truth being pointed out to you.
Jesus would not have referenced a 15 year old as a “child” - according to OUR law a 15 year old is a “child”, according to Jewish law they would be an adult.
Sorry if that truth is contrary to your sensibilities.
