A new, casually transmittable infection a unique strain of bacterial meningitis has cast a pall over the gay night life and dating scene, with men wondering whether this is AIDS, circa 1981, all over again. Seven men have died in New York City, about a third of diagnosed cases, since 2010. And in the last few months, the contagion seemed to be accelerating. It has targeted gay and bisexual men, and nobody knows exactly why.
The citys best hope to curb the outbreak is to vaccinate as many at-risk men as possible, focusing on those most in danger: men who regularly hook up with other men whom they meet at parties, bars, clubs and through apps like Grindr. Dr. Don Weiss, the director of surveillance for the citys Bureau of Communicable Disease, has called it Russian roulette sex, because sooner or later, you are going to come across this organism and be exposed.
The health departments own vaccination efforts at several gay bars have had limited success. Men out partying want to have fun, not be told that they may fall prey to a lethal disease by doing so.

The activity of homosexual men seems designed to limit the population of homosexual men or to make it dangerous. As the society paganizes and homosexuality becomes normal for young men there will be a ballooning of frightful diseases.
Denial isn’t just a river in Egypt, it appears to run up the backsides of men who have sexual contact with other men.
It makes me think of a weird statistic pertaining to my home state, NC. We lead the nation in deaths due to sleeping in the middle of the road. Why anyone sleeps in the middle of the road is certainly a mystery, but the possible consequence of doing so is no mystery at all.
This gay meningitis uproar is comparable to middle-of-the-road-sleepers making a public outcry about the mystery behind so many “sleepists” dying. It’s those bigoted tractor-trailer drivers fault I guess?
If the past is any guide, probably so, from their warped perspective.
Between drug use and rampant promiscuity, how can anybody be surprised that homosexuals get diseases? It’s the cost of doing business. If they don’t like it, they should abandon the lifestyle.
Indeed. Yet somehow they will continue to rant “It’s all Reagan’s(or Bush’s or the Pope’s or Jerry Falwell’s or the Christian Rights’s or some other conservative target to fill in the blank’s) fault!”
If “gay” means exclusively homosexual, and “bisexual” means what it seems to mean in English; then it’s a very important distinction. “Gay diseases” are transmitted to heterosexual people by bisexuals.
I had no idea!
‘Defining deviancy down’ bump.
There is a reason the colon is not a reproductive organ....something gays and Straight Guilt Liberals refuse to accept
It has targeted gay and bisexual men, and nobody knows exactly why.
I’ll take people who exchange insane amounts of bodily fluids with lots of risky strangers for 100 Alex.
Cheap Jeopardy reference. /s
I suspect dewey-sickles have alleviated this crisis somewhat.
Whew!
sex control and civilization
Tab P was not meant to go in slot A.
That’s true I guess. I was just harping on the distinction between gay and bisexual...because isn’t a bisexual gay? Or at least they perform gay sex acts. A comedian (Andrew Dice Clay?) had a bit about it...’Either you do @#$% or you don’t #$%^’...there is no in between.
But i get yor point, about how the heterosexual population is exposed to these diseases.
Most gay males (especially under 35) are mental nutcases, and horny as sin. A population of them will likely end up with 100% contraction of something knowing full well that this is what will happen. They simply are too willing to do whatever it takes to get off.
And they want us to spend money to make it “safer” for them to be retarded? Nope!
They’ve been brainwashed by the triad of media/education/gov’t that they have a “human right” to engage in unhealthy sexual behaviors that will greatly shorten their life span. And all the negative consequences that result are somehow someone else’s fault.
It’s an exit, not an entrance.
