Why Andrew Breitbart Walked into the Fire with Sarah Palin
Big Government ^ | May 18, 2013 | Andrew Marcus

Whenever Andrew Breitbart saw that somebody was being unfairly maligned by the institutional Left, he became that person's stalwart defender. Sarah Palin, perhaps more than any other person in recent history, endured the full weight of what Breitbart called the "Democrat-media complex," and so Sarah Palin had no more fierce a defender than Andrew Breitbart.

He never explicitly endorsed her for President--Breitbart, as a rule, didn't endorse candidates. He wasn't a policy wonk, nor did he enjoy punditry--Breitbart's sights were consistently set on the media. He understood how the media can shape, influence, or even manipulate the general public's perception of events and individuals. A favorite theme of the Progressive media's smear-machine, and one which was aimed with particular savagery at Sarah Palin, is the notion that Conservatives are, in a word, dummies. One need not look very far for specific examples.

In the meantime, and in the real world, Barack Obama has made Sarah Palin look like a prophet:

So, who's the dummy?

Well at least you arent swearing at me via freepmail.

You are however still wrong. As usual. Then again you still defend a guy that helped empower the Gonsels of the world kill kids with his own cash and laws. So I am far from surprised. Wrong is your default position lately.

Wrong?

You're the one who parroted Axelrod talking points, the one who actually believed that Romney WAS THE SAME AS BAMBI, just as Axelrod instructed, the one stupid enough to believer that.

Palin understood the difference, but you Norm, you actually don't. You actually were stupid enough to parrot the Axelrod talking points, and to this day you still do.

Good grief you are a moron. Look at what this guy is doing, look at what he had done, and then look in the mirror, cause you helped reelect him with your asinine positions.

So "pure". Man, you are dense, one of the FR thirty who actually believed the Axelrod bullshit.

GFY.

One of us berates Freepers for not supporting a homosexual pushing, abortion loving liberal gun grabber and the other one sticks to what this site is about.

All the ‘GFY’ in the world does not change the above.

Why Andrew Breitbart Walked into the Fire with Sarah Palin

Posted on May 18 2013 - 8:10 PM - Posted by:

Andrew Breitbart was a personal hero of mine and I’m sure, of many of yours as well.  His loss is felt by us all still to this day.

Over at Breitbart.com, Andrew Marcus has penned a fantastic piece highlighting how and why Breitbart was a true warrior in the cause of freedom and why he chose to stand by Governor Palin when so many of those we should have been able to count on let us down and by extension…let cause of true reform down.  The lesson Breitbart embraced and made his own: Never back down and “refuse to be destroyed”:

A favorite theme of the Progressive media’s smear-machine, and one which was aimed with particular savagery at Sarah Palin, is the notion that Conservatives are, in a word, dummies. One need not look very far for specific examples.

If Barack Obama claims to have visited all 57 states, we are told he was simply tired and misspoke. If Dan Quayle misspells potato, we are told that he is the stupidest man to ever set foot in Washington, D.C.

If Joe Biden asks a man in a wheelchair to stand up and be recognized, we are told that lovable and gaffe-inclined Joe Biden is just being that lovable and gaffe-inclined Joe Biden. If George W. Bush mispronounces nuclear, we are told that he is the stupidest man to ever set foot in Washington, D.C.

If Barack Obama refers to Navy Corpsmen as corpse-men, well, don’t say anything about that because shut up and you’re a racist. If Sarah Palin ends a sentence with a preposition, we are told she is the stupidest woman to ever set foot outside of Wasilla, Alaska.

In the meantime, and in the real world, Barack Obama has made Sarah Palin look like a prophet:

So, who’s the dummy?

Many Americans, to this very day, believe that Sarah Palin said, “I can see Russia from my house.” I have had to explain, on numerous occasions and to people who are otherwise well-educated and ostensibly intelligent, that it was in fact Tina Fey, a comedienne, who said that. That so many people, years later, continue to mistake an SNL skit for reality is a testament to the power of the media, to the power of manipulating perception–and the abuse of that power is precisely what Andrew Breitbart so passionately resisted.

But if Andrew Breitbart fiercely defended Sarah Palin, Sarah Palin also taught Andrew Breitbart an important lesson–one which he took to heart for himself, and one which he imparted to others wherever he went: refuse to be destroyed. Do not cower before the name-calling. Do not apologize for your beliefs. Do not hide.

He observed that Sarah Palin, by refusing to back down in the face of the smears, became stronger–and by refusing to retreat, she became a touchstone for millions who felt that her peril was their own. And so her resistance became their resistance.

I bolded those two sentences because that sentiment really resonates with me personally and may with you as well…but I encourage you all to please read the whole thing.

Stupid and uninformed as ever Norm./

Hey LakeShark, go back and re-read what Norm posted and then try and act with a bit more civility.
She also endorsed Mitt Romney, and you didn't listen.

She endorsed him on the day before the election, Not much of an endorsement and I am sure it was meant as damning with faint praise by Governor Palin.

Norm Lenhart, Palin fan, but as usual he was actually uninformed as to what she believed, rather than listen, he parroted Axelrod talking points.

Congrats Norm, you got what you wanted you jackass..
If you want to blame somebody about the outcome of the election, you'd better start with Romney if you want to be objective. Romney was running against the best possible candidate that a Republican can run against, a lying, out and out Socialist.

1. Romney refused to fight. He thought because his name wasn't Obama, he was going to walk right into the Whitehouse.
2. Romney decided he could piss on the base and they would simply act like a bunch of fools and simply support him. Where else were they going to go, right? So he alienates Christian conservatives by supporting both Abortion AND the Gay Agenda.
3. Romney couldn't communicate a conservative agenda if his life depended on it, because he AIN'T a conservative. He's a progressive liberal, judging by his life-long LIBERAL positions, and his actions as Governor of MA including implementing, unconstitutionally, Gay Marriage.

When you get back to dealing with the truth objectively Lakeshark, and quit bad-mouthing good conservative Freepers, get back to us, but until then, the only JackAss on this thread is you.

Thanks for the kudos SCP but Lake has a problem dealing with reality. And he has a personal grudge with me after being humiliated time and again over his positions. But he thinks Conservative ‘purity’ is evil and ‘winning’ at any cost is a conservative value.

Don’t expect an honest debate. Expect namecalling and a rewrite of the history we all lived through.

My posts are there for all to see. So are his. If anyone disputes my claim they are free to read both. The last week alone will prove my point,

While I have been known to succumb to "over-the-top" rhetoric occasionally, Lakeshark is well-known for this type of behavior.

And while I have also experienced the lack of honest debate with him/her occasionally, the points still need to be made repeatedly about Romney. Otherwise, we are doomed to repeat the same cycle again where the GOP-E does their damnedest to put up the worst possible candidate who is guaranteed to lose.

This election, given Zero's horrible, socialist record, should have been a cake-walk, but the GOP-E conspired to get the only GOP candidate with an ACTUAL PRogressive Liberal record nominated.

The only way Romney was going to win is if the other side didn't show up to vote.

He was the only candidate guaranteed to suppress the GOP vote.

BUTBUTBUT It’s OUR fault for not helping him and his buddy NP get more kids into the hands of homos via adoption, gays into the military, our guns taken,,,you know...all the same crap Obama does. Axlerod didn’t invent that. Romney and now Ryan DID it.

I sleep well knowing I didn’t trash conservatives to try and get that into power. And Lake has to look in a mirror knowing he did. And he demands to sit at the conservative table regardless. In otherwords, he is as pathetic as every other psuedocon.

We need more purity in conservatism and less Lakeshark’s brand of moderation.

The tea party was trying to put more conservative Republicans into Congress . But Obama sent the IRS,FBI and other agencies to shut down the tea party. so blame Obama and the IRS if the Congress (or GOP in congress) isn't more to your liking. The IRS rigged the election of 2012. Here is just one example :

U.S. Rep. Kevin Brady (R-Texas) told the tale of one of his constituents who applied for tax-exempt status for her Tea Party group in July 2010. Twenty months later she got her first response from the IRS, a letter with dozens of questions. She answered them all, but she’s still waiting for approval. However, during the intervening three years she was visited by the FBI’s domestic terrorism unit, had four additional FBI inquiries, had both her personal and business taxes audited and been the subject of an OSHA inspection.

Sorry guys, I was right, Sarah said early and often ABO. She coined the phrase and followed up and never relented. She understood the horrors of the Bambi administration quite well, as did Newt, Bachmann, Santorum, Perry and virtually all strains of conservative candidates.

They all knew it. Anyone with a brain knew it. This was the most horrid administration ever, most of us knew it before the scandals hit this past week. This is a once in a century bad administration, one that begged each and every patriotic American to get rid of it.

It was our patriotic duty to do so, and everyone who stood up and worked against them and voted to get rid of them did the right thing.

When I saw Breitbart before he died he had another money quote, and this was when Newt was ascending into the lead during the primaries: "Work like Hell for the candidate you want to represent the GOP, work as hard as you can. In the end, when it's over, you have to consolidate around who wins, you have to otherwise this man and all the evil he represents will win one more time. If you don't consolidate around the winner, no matter who it is, then you will be responsible for allowing the most destructive administration ever to finish its work."

Yep, and he was right, it's obvious he was right, anyone who has a brain knows he was right.

What amazes me is you sit here cooly, having believed the most outrageously stupid talking points of Axelrod, having actively spread them for him, can sit here smug and self satisfied knowing you helped this destructive fool get reelected to another term.

There aren't enough swear words, nor derogatory terms to fling at those of you who didn't do what they should have done.

You had the opportunity to get rid of the worst administration ever, and unlike most, you punted, you did nothing to remove him, you simply sat on your hands and looked at your own very pure rear ends and allowed him to continue destroying America.

Congrats, you got what you wanted, but don't expect some kind of free pass for your smug and arrogant idiocy from the rest of us.

I have no reason to try to convince you of anything, nor did I try to.

Just saying I was "wrong" without engaging in a dialogue is pretty darn silly.

Saying people are unpatriotic for refusing to campaign/vote for a Gonsel enabling, gun grabbing homosexualist is magnesium level of ‘the stupid burns’ Impossible to put it out.

Can’t wait to rub your latest venture into liberalism in your face at every opportunity.
