Moscow defies EU, prohibits gay pride march out of 'respect for morality'

The Moscow city government has rejected an application for a homosexual march permit for the eighth year in a row, citing the need for “respect for morality” and patriotism, according to Russian media sources.

“According to Russian law, we must work clearly and consistently on maintaining morality, directed to the teaching of patriotism to the growing generation, and not toward unclear aspirations, not to mention taking the city’s central squares and streets for this,” said Aleksei Mayorov, head of Regional Security for the city of Moscow, according to Interfax

If homosexual activists defy the law and attempt to march as they have in previous years, Mayorov warned that “a certain reaction will follow and the action will be thwarted,” according to RIA Novosti. “In our opinion there is no desire for such events in the city.”

Mayorov’s statements are reflective of public sentiment in Russia, where 87 percent say they are opposed to such “gay pride” events, according to a poll recently conducted by the Levada Public Opinion Center, which also found that 85 percent are also opposed to the creation of homosexual “marriage.”

Homosexual “pride” marches are often characterized by open debauchery that includes public nudity, simulated and real acts of sodomy, mockery of Christianity, and public drunkenness.

Moscow’s continuing refusal to capitulate to the international homosexual movement’s demands is in defiance of European Court of Human Rights, which has ordered the city to allow such demonstrations, as well as the chairman of the Council of Europe, who has denounced Moscow’s ban on “gay pride.”

Attempts by homosexuals to hold public demonstrations in Moscow and other cities have provoked outrage by religious leaders and ordinary Russian citizens, who often confront the marchers with force. Police have found it necessary to detain and arrest homosexuals who have defied local “pride” bans in recent years.

The Russian parliament is currently considering a nationwide ban on homosexual propaganda aimed at minors, a measure that has already been passed by a number of Russian cities.

In neighboring Georgia, priests and faithful of the Orthodox Church broke up a “gay pride” event this week.

Of course, they are entirely different here in the USA, where they are occasions for wholesome family fun that are rapidly replacing old-fashioned 4th of July celebrations as the high point of the summer.

Yep, pretty sad. You may find this interesting. It was distributed around the DOJ.

I think that it is grossly unfair that gay pride parades are prohibited in Moscow. They should hold one every year - on the third Saturday in January.

I can’t believe that a lot of people here would rather live under a dictator like Putin than live in a free society.

He should run for Mayor of Moscow. Mayor Mayorov is just too catchy to resist voting for him.

It’s pretty sad when Russa has moral leadership and we don’t. Who would have thought a former head of the KGB would have more dignity and respect than the POTUS? We sure have sunk to new lows.

I hate it that Russia keeps coming out on the right side and the US consistently goes the wrong way.

As far as freedom goes, Russia will be more free than the US as soon as the elites of both parties get done.

Something about Russia, they may be the stick-in-the-spokes of the New World Order. Good for them.

"It’s pretty sad when Russia has moral leadership and we don’t. Who would have thought a former head of the KGB would have more dignity and respect than the POTUS?"

While the Russian leadership may be energizing the morality of the people in these cases, I think they're doing so more as a matter of pragmatism than virtue.

The Soviet intelligence apparatus spent decades deliberately trying to undermine traditional morality and promote decadence in the west precisely because they knew it would rot the states from within, and they know enough to nip such movements in the bud. They're not so much promoting a healthy diet as they are simply preventing the ingestion of poison.

Moscow’s continuing refusal to capitulate to the international homosexual movement’s demands is in defiance of European Court of Human Rights,

Wow, who would have thought 20 years ago that the Russian people's stance on this critically important moral issue would be more biblicly (sp?) correct than that of the American people? I don't want to see physical injury inflicted on homosexual demonstrators by mob violence as has happened recently in at least one former USSR nation, but neither do I want to see their sickening deviancy approved and actually celebrated in our city streets and parks.

I am more amazed every day by the very recent turnaround of public opinion that has taken place in the US just in the last 3 or 4 years regarding homosexual deviancy. God didn't tolerate this abomination in the era of Sodom and Gomorrah and He won't hold back His wrath on the US very much longer unless we as a nation return to the biblical standards of morality that prevailed in previous American generations. If all the very recent reversals of opinion on immoral sexual aberrations that now seem to be acceptable to the majority of Americans are added up we don't appear to be any more morally correct than the ancient Sodomites who God destroyed in one day. We aren't any more immune to His righteous judgment than were they were, and His wrath fell on them and were destroyed down to the last man in just one fiery judgment day. A massive nuclear attack wouldn't kill all Americans as God's judgment killed all the Sodomites, but for all who survive it would be the end of the world as we have known it.

Anyway, a nuclear attack isn't the only way God could and may punish America, and our approval of deviant sex isn't our nation's only nationally approved sin. The murder of over 50 million unborn children may well outweigh even the sin of homosexual deviancy on His scales, and His prescribed punishment for murder is death.

The communists and socialists killed Russia and spread their poison around the world.

They removed God, destroyed His churches and transformed orthodox Russia into the atheist Soviet Union. That was then.

God has since restored life to Russia and His church has risen once more.

We, on the other hand, are unfortunately running out of time. That poison is killing us, too. We need to restore our faith in God, we trust, once again.

He is a God of Mercy, but He is also a God of Justice. He may be slow to anger, but we are pushing all of His buttons.

Our Grace period is coming to an end. His cup of Justice is brim full and He is going to spill it on US and the world.

Time to choose. Will we be like Nineveh or go out like Sodom and Gomorrah?

I admit I’ve been siding with Putin and Russia more and more over the past 4.5 years.
