Former Gov. Mitt Romney, the Republican party's presidential nominee in 2012, received large applause as he was introduced on Friday's broadcast of The Tonight Show by host Jay Leno in his first appearance on the late night show since he lost to President Barack Obama in November.
Leno asked Romney about the Obama administration's scandal-plagued week and gave him ample time to address the AP, IRS and Benghazi investigations. After making it clear he was done in politics, Romney was given nearly ten minutes to slam Obama's handling of Benghazi and his administration's involvement in other scandals.
While discussing the IRS scandal, Romney said it is time that a special counsel be appointed to investigate. "My own view is, that a a special counsel should be appointed. Because only a special council can investigate the administration," he said.
After giving his take on how Obama handled the scandals, Romney also opined on how Benghazi may impact Hillary Clinton's chances in 2016.

Agree. He had the character, but not the fighting spirit needed in these times. We need Mr. West!
So?...What happened?
Why was this important?
Was this involved in voting fraud and how?
Watch as IRS takes on Leno and ruins him— we have not seen the last of a political IRS used to enforce Progressive views and Democrat ideals as we march into the People’s Utopia! Soon we will all be forced to address each other as Comrade or Citizen.
Here you go.

Thank you very much.
Then after the election when massive fraud was plainly evident, he chose to willfully ignore evil. A man who will NOT face down evil, does not deserve to be president. SHAME on him.
What is character? I see it as the COURAGE to call evil by its name: EVIL.
It is the COURAGE to fight and protest the voter fraud that DISINFRANCHIED millions of honest voters.
Romney is a caricature! He is self interested in himself. He is NOT a man of character.
No I never got excited about that election. I did feel like Mickey Mouse could beat ZERO. Now with all the IRS stuff coming out it is clear now he stole the election.
I was a Herman Cain supporter and was very disappointed when he dropped out.
Mia Love was a great candidate. And what if she doesn’t run again which would be understandable? Waste...
He gambled on a much less confrontational approach, which was not what we need. We need to be pounding on the evil 24/7 and keeping it out front. We need to be strong and confrontational at every turn. He (and the GOP) chose poorly.
Men with character do what needs to be done. Romney lacked the courage to do that.
Ignore voter fraud? For “calculating” reasons? ( sigh!)
I happened to see the segment.
Perhaps a mistake is comparing him to Odumbo, who has no character. Yes, when fundamental liberties and this great country are at stake, there are no excuses.
Question—If the election were held today, would all those people who stayed home get out and vote for Romney?
FYI received this today from Mia, she is running.
You were with me every step of the campaign in 2012, so I wanted you to be among the first to know...
Earlier today, I announced my campaign to once again challenge seven-term Democrat incumbent Jim Matheson.
2012 belonged to President Obama, but 2014 will be the GOP’s year...and our year! This time around we’re not going to come up short. We’re going to come out on top. Let me tell you exactly how...
We’re going to outraise our opponent. He outraised us last time by several hundred thousand dollars. With loyal supporters like you already on board, we’re on track to beat him in this critical area.
We’re going to build the most effective voter ID and turnout program anyone’s every seen.
We’re going to amass thousands of dedicated volunteers and outwork our opponent.
So, Romney still believes Obama is a “nice guy.”
It’s clear this man never really wanted to be President. What a joke.
Worst President of our lifetime, and the best we could come up with is McRINO and Romney?
thanks Crosslink. I’ll donate...
