House Republicans voted to repeal the Affordable Care Act in its entirety,
(Excerpt) Read more at washingtonpost.com ...
Why would Congress have to pass a law relating to that? Oh wait, because the media in general is in the government's pocket.
When, and where, it mattered (AKA: a BUDGET), the GOPe punted and voted to pass a continuing resolution.
They could have killed it then and there (keepers of the purse strings), but no.
Wake me up when Boehner/McConnell and the rest of the feckless cabal are replaced with people with spines
Here's the thing: it doesn't matter if the House votes to repeal it or not. All they have to do is refuse to fund it and it doesn't happen. Period. End of story. The House controls the purse strings. If they don't appropriate the funds, the program doesn't happen.
I’ll believe they mean it when they quit funding it.
Until then? It’s no more than political posturing.
Hopefully this is the start of something big.
Bravo House Republicans. Build on that momentum.
No. It's. Not.
If a continuing resolution isn't passed, it is up to the discretion of the President as to what gets funded and what doesn't within the money remaining.
Which is to say: Obamacare gets funded and, e.g., the military doesn't get paid.
The only way the House can exert any authority in the matter is if it gets the Senate to agree with them on what gets funded and what doesn't.
And that ain't gonna happen...
The House will have no effective authority over funding until such time as real budgets are again in control of expenditures -- and not the Current Services Baseline.
Which means ridding ourselves of any remnant of Democrat control of the federal government.
Even this Dolt knows that it matters because Rat Senators and Congresscritters are now on record for the 2014 election. Obamacare was a train wreck before the SHTF this week. Rats in swing Districts are toast if they back Obamacare at this point.
Yep, it'll never pass in the Senate.....what is it 30 plus times now they've done this?
As long as the Democrats continue to support Obama he will not be gone any time soon. These scandals are not enough, it has to hit his support system and few have even spoken out on the scandals.
So far Bo's just been a “bad boy” in their eyes....the firing of Miller is enough for the general public followers to believe he “did something” about it. They will still support him.
Dog & Pony Show
Can this be done?
It has been up for vote millions of times. It is a play to make conservatives happy knowing it will never pass the Senate and certainly would be vetoed by the President.
I have no idea what you’re talking about. The purpose of these votes is to make the democrats repeatedly vote against repealling 0bamacare. That will be used against them in the election next year.
If Boehner and the other GOPe’s were serious about shutting down ObamaCare, they would vote NOT TO FUND IT!!! Boehner has already said ObamaCare is the “Law of the Land.”
Sorry, but money talks and Bull Sh*t walks. This is nothing but smoke and mirrors from these useless RINOs!
Just wait ‘til the IRS is enforcer for Obamacare. “It says here you are a member of the Tea Party. Then, your child does not qualify for that operation.”
“- - - House Republicans voted to repeal the Affordable Care Act in its entirety, in a 229 to 195 vote largely along partisan lines. - - - “
Did any Democrats or Republicans break ranks?
Please start using just ‘democrat’. Using the term ‘democratic’ plays into their propaganda. There’s nothing ‘democratic’ in how they do things. It’s more in line with what Stalin did, or Hitler, or Castro, or Jong-il, or any number of dictators.
Is this bill all that I would want? Far from it. Is it all that it can be? No. But when history calls, history calls. And I happen to think that the consequences of inaction dictate the urgency of Congress to demonstrate its capacity to solve the monumental issues of our time. Susan Collins (Stupid Party) Maine. Lemme guess, she was 'for it, before she was against it'
Let's make sure when we talk about the "record" we look at the "record" in it's entirety. Now, how many in the Stupid Party voted to de-fund it?
We’ll see if anything actually comes of it.
