That's not just a little shading of the truth, Carney was lying blatantly and stupidly, stupidly because it was so easily caught. That's beginning to become a pattern - the story that the IRS abuses were the work of two "rogue" operators fell under that category as soon as the abusive questionnaires started to pop up all over the country.

Mendacity this open and broad is a function of pure arrogance. Once again the shredders will be running overnight in DC and the bureaucracies looking for how far down they can push the inevitable fall guy. These are our "leaders".

Carney was lying blatantly and stupidly, stupidly because it was so easily caught.

Last week he was using the line that the WH only changed one word in the talkingpoints, and that was 'consolate' to 'diplomatic facility'.

Even then, a reporter asked about the 12 revisions. Carney slinked back to the one-word changed excuse.

Carney was contining to use that same excuse 2 days ago. And that was after the rest of the world has known -- for at least a full week -- that the initial CIA talkingpoints memo was changed 12 times.

Carney tried to dodge by saying the CIA changed the talkingpoints. [That just would not make sense.] Then, the new excuse was that some Republicans changed the talkingpoints. [Why would Republicans even have the WH talkingpoints?]

Carney told so many versions of the lies that he couldn't keep his lies straight.
