Janice Cottrill, an Ohio woman, served her 91-year-old father eviction papers, forcing him to raise money to prevent the move.
John Potter, the elderly man who served in World War II, was given eviction papers to leave his Zaleski, Ohio, home in February, reported FOX-8 television.
It started when he transferred his power of attorney to his daughter in 2004 for future matters if his health declined. However, Cottrill used the power of attorney to transfer the deed of the home to herself.
Potter said that he learned of the deed transfer in 2010 and switched power of attorney to his granddaughter. He was forced to sue to get his home back, reported ABC News.
However, an appeals court ruled that the statute of limitations had expired in the case, meaning that the deed will still be overseen by Cottrill.

No it doesn't smell right. A pathetic excuse for a daughter, but the fund raising could also be part of a scam, or not.
“her side of the story”?
It’s HIS property.
It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out *her* side of the story. She's a greedy, crooked pig.I've given two relatives power of attorney...one primary and one backup (in case the primary is unable or unwilling to serve).I trust both of them completely...knowing that they'd never pull a stunt like that.I was the executor...and had power of attorney...of my late Dad's estate.Never in a million years would I have considered such a crooked stunt.
My diagnosis of the daughter....a common crook.
Blood is thicker than water.
Money is thicker than blood.
I was scared to say anything but I wondered about this story, too. Is it a way to run a scam and get donations? I don’t know enough to decide either way.
If the story is on the up-n-up, the daughter is a evil pos.
Of course she should evict the bum. After all, what did he ever do for her? /sarc
I do know that people can justify pretty much anything they do. We have my MIL in assisted living and all of her kids are on her checking account. We took almost all of that money out and put it in another account because my SIL was just getting online and making transfers to herself.
That is illegal.
sorry but when you are evicting your own father there is no other side of the story...she is a sorry a$$ excuse for a child
My friend said when his mother died, things were different. One of his youngers sisters visited the mother (who was not totally with it mentally) shortly before she died and got power of attorney changed from my friend to her.. She changed her mother's wishes to distribute the estate equally between my friend and his nine siblings. The younger sister decided to appropriate her mother's entire estate for herself leaving her siblings nothing. The younger sister told her mother that my friend had wished to give her the power of executor...which was a lie. My friend never granted her that power. She wouldn't even allow her siblings to visit their mother's house after she died to check for mementoes. Now the younger sister wonders why none of her siblings will talk to her. She made her bed, she can lie in it said my friend.
