When momentous events happen like the election of a new president, White Bear Lake resident Laurie Wenker makes sure to get two copies of that day's newspaper to tuck away in memory boxes for her teenage daughters.
She did just that -- and more Tuesday.
Wenker and daughters Eleanor, 16, and Lillian, 13, joined a crowd of an estimated 6,000 people who gathered at the state Capitol to witness Gov. Mark Dayton sign a bill legalizing same-sex marriages in Minnesota.
"I wanted my kids to experience history, to take in and breathe in the equality in the air," Wenker said.

now that divisiveness is out of the way, I’m sure all the ‘socially liberal’ and ‘moderate’ republicans will now foucus on fighting to lower taxes and regulations in Minnesota and reverse the out of control spending.

No matter what the law says, two gay people cannot marry. Trying to make that possible through law is kind of like trying to legally repel the law of gravity. We can’t legally alter biology (even if the left cannot understand that).
Maybe she’ll get real lucky and be able to tuck away the memory of the momentous events of her daughters being “married” to lesbians...

Yeah, right. Sure, there will be a couple thousand marriages right away and we'lll hear about every fricking one but the divorce rate will be far higher. That fact will be hidden.

In reality it represents a total lack of diversity. Differences of opinion are not tolerated, only the approved positions of the cultural elite are acceptable. What they are really smelling is oppression.
The whole lie about “equal rights” is a sham for the simple fact that no person who identifies him or herself as a homosexual was ever barred from getting married. The definition of marriage for thousands of years has referred to a male marrying a female. For the same reasons polygamy has been outlawed, homosexual marriage was not legal either. They can spin this any way they want, but a person of one sex cannot marry a person of the same sex.
