You have your opinion and I have mine. Look me up after the next election. Tell me the results them. Show me the conservative that will win.
Next election results will be interesting, yes, but you seem to be missing my point. If we don’t make it this time, we will still keep trying, we will never give up. To quit now would be a crime against the Constitution, against the Founders, against all who have put themselves in harms way on our behalf. It’s not a place I am willing to go. It’s like Churchill says. Don’t get too excited about your wins, or too depressed about your losses. What matters is the courage to continue.
But some argue why bother, it’s the end of the world, just let evil have it’s day. etc. I’ve been watching end of the world predictions for about half a century now, and I seen a lot of good people waste their lives on presuming Jesus was wrong, that we could outsmart God and figure out when it was the end, that we could walk away from our duties to our neighbors and our country, just go galt and find a mountaintop to wait for the end.
But Jesus taught something different. He taught us to be ready at all times, living in Him by faith, and being found faithful in the small tasks he has given us, until that happy day finally does arrive.
Someone once asked DL Moody what he would do if he knew the Second Coming was tomorrow. His answer? Plant a tree.
In other words, if you would have to change plans to get ready, you aren’t ready. We have duties to fulfill, duties to God, to our Constitution, our Founders, our defenders, our families and our fellow countrymen, and for some of us, under the bond of a solemn oath. If we would shirk those duties and forsake our oath to make ready for His coming, we would be caught unprepared when He does come. And so we continue, because the alternative is out of the question.
