You’ve been a doom and gloom troll your entire existence here on FR. I trust nothing you say.
With all due respect, my dad, who was Navy, used to say the difficult we do right away, the impossible takes a little longer. He was a part of that “greatest generation,” and what they had, that I see lacking here, was that indestructible persistence that leads to victory.
You sir complain that we will never again see the light of day. That complaint and fear has been raised by every generation since the beginning of time, and those who have believed it have generally gotten what they believed in.
But it is given to those who reject that spirit of surrender to win and succeed when it seems impossible, as it often does, in every generation. It is that same spirit that guided the first American Revolution against a world empire, that cut down Hitler’s juggernaut in it’s prime, that led Joshua and Caleb to reject the defeatism of the majority report and declare, with faith in God, no matter the odds, we can win.
Any army that goes into battle believing in advance that they will lose, will lose. Why? If you really want to win, you have to plan to win. You have to think and plan like someone who expects to cover all the ground necessary to achieve the objective. Why does the left win? Marx told them history is evolving in their favor. They believe it. They plan on it. It is religion to them. It is false religion, but it motivates them. And they will never give up until they realize, collectively, that history really isn’t on their side.
Are you prepared to admit that their beliefs, as bankrupt as they are morally, intellectually, philosophically, are more motivating than faith in God, faith in the natural law of God and the timeless, universal principles of right and wrong that define conservatism?
Because if you have more confidence in the eventual victory of evil over good, I cannot wrap my mind around what purpose you think you are serving here. We at FR exist because as a first principle we believe in God, family, and conservative values, and the ultimate victory of good over evil. We are here not to wring our hands in dramatic despair, but because we mean to act together to do whatever we can to get victory in our generation, and in each generation after us, until the return of Jesus, however long it takes. It is our duty, and our privilege, to be the resistance, not in name only, but in fact.

The administration has lost so much credibility by the death of Americans in Libya, that no one really cares about that piece of paper. Then you add on all the other publicized truths regarding the complete criminal actions. This isn’t about the GOP, the focus is on the Administration and their complete failure to be truthful and staight forward lie to the American people. Did you see the Washington Post gave Obama 4 pinnochios because he never said it was terrorism on the day after the attacks, but now he says he did? He has lost so much credability, that it looks foolish and obvious that they are desperate with this thing you bring up. The focus is on the orders for our military to stand down when they were ready to help. Then lying to the Americans and congress. no don’t you worry about it. The only one screwed is this administration..and the compliant cronies. or ...Is that a concern to you?
The GOP didn’t “alter” anything. NOBODY was permitted to copy the original emails. White House rules precluded them actually HAVING the original emails. Select people could LOOK at the emails, and then they had to leave the room - not even note-taking was permitted. So now the White House, after making sure no one would have the exact wording, is accusing the GOP that their version isn’t the precise wording. Truth is, these minor discrepancies don’t change the meaning at all, and we knew from the get-go that people were relying on recall.
Class warfare isn’t going to get us anywhere.

That was a huge turning point, a horrible moment on so many levels. I wish Romney would have come prepared with a transcript and pursued it further.
You have your opinion and I have mine. Look me up after the next election. Tell me the results them. Show me the conservative that will win.

I get the number game, I truly do. I think what you guys overlook is the human factor; I doubt anyone could say for certain how people will react to that which hasn’t even happened yet! Do you think those 15K visas that were issued to kids from countries that are hostile towards us, are going to continue to play nice when our government has NO clue where they are?! ANYTHING can happen and things we can’t even guess, WILL happen. It’s life. And yes, I truly do believe that in time, when suddenly those free handouts aren’t coming so easily, and more people are competing for scraps, there will be shift. Nothing is in stone in this life, NOTHING.
Next election results will be interesting, yes, but you seem to be missing my point. If we don’t make it this time, we will still keep trying, we will never give up. To quit now would be a crime against the Constitution, against the Founders, against all who have put themselves in harms way on our behalf. It’s not a place I am willing to go. It’s like Churchill says. Don’t get too excited about your wins, or too depressed about your losses. What matters is the courage to continue.
But some argue why bother, it’s the end of the world, just let evil have it’s day. etc. I’ve been watching end of the world predictions for about half a century now, and I seen a lot of good people waste their lives on presuming Jesus was wrong, that we could outsmart God and figure out when it was the end, that we could walk away from our duties to our neighbors and our country, just go galt and find a mountaintop to wait for the end.
But Jesus taught something different. He taught us to be ready at all times, living in Him by faith, and being found faithful in the small tasks he has given us, until that happy day finally does arrive.
Someone once asked DL Moody what he would do if he knew the Second Coming was tomorrow. His answer? Plant a tree.
In other words, if you would have to change plans to get ready, you aren’t ready. We have duties to fulfill, duties to God, to our Constitution, our Founders, our defenders, our families and our fellow countrymen, and for some of us, under the bond of a solemn oath. If we would shirk those duties and forsake our oath to make ready for His coming, we would be caught unprepared when He does come. And so we continue, because the alternative is out of the question.
