I prefer the two definitions that are in opposition to the author’s pipe dream article: (both from Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary, Fourth Edition);
1. Nationalism:
a. Devotion to one’s ation; patriotism (oo, nasty word!);
b. the doctrine that national interest, security, etc., are more important than international considerations
c. the desire for or advocacy of national independence.
2. Nativism:
a. the practice or policy of favoring native-born citizens as against immigrants;
b. the revival of a native culture.
Therefore, in response to the author, I AM an American Nationalist, that believes that we should be free of foreign import of fuel, foreign holdings of American economic debt, free of any nation, or group of nations determined to impart their national will upon America, AS WE ONCE WERE!
I AM an American Nativist. Americans first to hire, foreign work visa programs should be ceased, defunded, and illegal. Americans for America, with any elected official that is or has previously received foreign interest’s money as part of their election funding should be held as an act of treason. Foreign immigrants should be held to a stricter sifting process, concerning that the Muslim world has declared war on this country, and that criminal organizations existing outside the Continental 48’s borders have been found to be exercising their will against John Q. / Jane Q. Public’s very lives.
Lastly, “nationalism’, as the author has been attempting to solicitate, was the idea embraced by Hitler. How did THAT work out???
Nationalism = patriotism among people or for a nation that one doesn’t like.
