President Obamas second-term campaign slogan was Forward, but instead weve got cover-ups, congressional investigations and the government persecution of political opponents and reporters.
That sounds like backward to me. All the way to, say, 1972.
Who would have guessed that just a few months into his second term, President Obama would be compared to Tricky Dick. And by a liberal Massachusetts Democrat U.S. Rep. Michael Capuano.
Republicans could not even have scripted this one. The agency most hated by voters, the Internal Revenue Service, admits to going on a Nixonian witch hunt against Tea Party and conservative groups during the re-election campaign.
This is a story even the most partisan Massachusetts liberal cannot defend. Its so bad that even Ed Markey is calling for heads to roll.
Now we learn that the Justice Department has secretly obtained the phone records of Associated Press reporters and editors in what appears to be an investigation of an AP story that disclosed details of a CIA operation that stopped a terrorist attack.
Going after the Tea Party is one thing, but the media? What an outrage. Who knows, the press may get so mad they wont laugh at Obamas jokes during the next White House Correspondents Dinner.
This does not bode well for Obamas second-term agenda. He already had lost a vote over gun control, and the Benghazi hearings didnt go so well, either.
The focus for the next few months will be on the investigation and likely cover-up of the IRS effort to get dirt on Obamas political opponents. The initial explanation that it was the handiwork of just a few rogue IRS workers sounds about as plausible as blaming the Benghazi attacks on an anti-Muslim video.
Voters should demand to know who was responsible for the IRS witch hunt. If anyone in the White House or Obama campaign was aware of it, then the Richard Nixon and Watergate comparisons will be eerily accurate. It was Nixon, after all, who invented the enemies list, and it looks as if someone in the Obama administrations IRS came up with one.
The disclosures might even trigger a resurgence for the Tea Party movement, which suffered some setbacks in the last election. U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), one of the Tea Party candidates who won, could get a boost all the way to the GOP presidential nomination.
So enjoy the next few months, President Obama. Its not time yet to get Marine One revved up on the White House lawn, but if you start talking to portraits of dead presidents, then its time to get worried.
Let him crap his own pants.
[[This is an American president?!]]
Sensible people say “Nope no WAY! but sadly many Americans still think he is— a few years ago countries were erectign statues of him- now I see soem are burnign effigies of him
And to think we’ve got 4 more long grueling years of destruiction to go through with him- hopefully htere will be a skeleton of what America used to be left over to try to pick the pieces up from- Hopefully htere iwll be enough money left to as well- but of course he’ll have spent just on himself over 3 billion dollars for his own pelasures and his familie’s whiel he destroyed America
[[Tingers get fangled...]]
Sorta- more severe than that- the letters get tangeled between the brain and fingers- neurological prollem as well as laziness on my part-

The next time dear leader whines abotu the sequester- boeaner should say something like that- “Just quit wastign money on a fake problem- ie: ‘man-caused’ global warming, and you’ll have all the moeny you want-”
[[The scandal, McConnell said, extends up the chain. The ama effort to shut up opponents isnt limited to the IRS, he stated. It applies to the FCC [Federal Communications Commission], SEC [Securities and Exchange Commission], FEC [Federal Elections Commission], HHS [Department of Health and Human Services] . And you remember, the Oama campaign last year published a list of eight businessmen who it believed were enemies.]]
Good golly I really hope the republicans dig their heels in and really expose dear leader for the criminal he really is- get it ALL out into the public so the peopel becoem aware of just how corrupt he is- Heopfully the republicans will steel themselves and really push hard on these issues-
Republican McConnel has been pushing on this for a while now , but until today was ignored by the media and people didn’t know about the IRS abuses. the liberal news media still has all the power.
Below is what McConnel says:
McConnell noted that he had raised the issue of IRS targeting of conservatives in 2012, and further noted that the Washington Post dismissed it as a bunch of red herrings.

On Monday, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) fired back on assertions by the IRS that its efforts to target conservative groups were relegated to low-level employees. Of course not, he told Breitbart News. McConnell noted that he had raised the issue of IRS targeting of conservatives in 2012, and further noted that the Washington Post dismissed it as a bunch of red herrings.
The scandal, McConnell said, extends up the chain. The Obama effort to shut up opponents isnt limited to the IRS, he stated. It applies to the FCC [Federal Communications Commission], SEC [Securities and Exchange Commission], FEC [Federal Elections Commission], HHS [Department of Health and Human Services] . And you remember, the Obama campaign last year published a list of eight businessmen who it believed were enemies.
McConnell further noted reports that the Department of Health and Human Services had been contacting businesses skeptical about the implementation of Obamacare and asking them to contribute money to sell the program to the American people. Thats absolutely improper if not illegal. This administration will stop at nothing to get its way. It will do anything it can to silence its critics.
McConnell said would not trust any Democrat-led investigation into the IRS scandal. He added with regard to a House investigation of the IRS activities, I

Obama’s not covered in Teflon - some in the press have opened their eyes - and they don’t like what they’re seeing. Obama’s free ride is over...
Did you read this piece?
This was printed in the Boston Herald - that’s a real newspaper... When the press decides they want to play grown-up - there’s no one better... Re-read what Joe Battenfield has written... it’s powerful stuff.

From the link:
Yet another version is:
When the Nazis came for the communists,
I remained silent;
I was not a communist.
When they locked up the social democrats,
I remained silent;
I was not a social democrat.
When they came for the trade unionists,
I did not speak out;
I was not a trade unionist.
When they came for the Jews,
I remained silent;
I wasn’t a Jew.
When they came for me,
there was no one left to speak out.

Martin Niemöller was a German pastor and theologian born in Lippstadt, Germany, in 1892. Niemöller was an anti-communist and supported Hitler’s rise to power at first. But when Hitler insisted on the supremacy of the state over religion, Niemöller became disillusioned. He became the leader of a group of German clergymen opposed to Hitler. In 1937 he was arrested and eventually confined in Sachsenhausen and Dachau. His crime was not being enthusiastic enough about the Nazi movement[citation needed]. Niemöller was released in 1945 by the Allies. He continued his career in Germany as a clergyman and as a leading voice of penance and reconciliation for the German people after World War II. His statement, sometimes presented as a poem, is well-known, frequently quoted, and is a popular model for describing the dangers of political apathy.
Origin
The statement was published in a 1955 book by Milton Mayer, They Thought They Were Free, based on interviews he had conducted in Germany several years earlier. The quotation was circulated by civil rights activists and educators in the United States in the late 1950s. Some research traces the text to several speeches given by Niemöller in 1946.[1]
Nixon had his people break into the Watergate to steal documents from Democrats. That walks and quacks like a crook...
The most important scandal is the AP one. If the press turns on him, or at least becomes more hard-hitting, it can inadvertently help save the country. The AP issue has the possibility of changing everything.
I hadn’t thought of it that way, but you’re right. Now, not only will he NOT be remembered as the Messiah that was denied re-election because all those white racists turned out at the polls — history will have plenty of ammunition to turn on those who dare try to enshrine him as our Greatest President Ever.
I think now that the blood is in the water - we'll wait and see. My bet is that he becomes so overwhelmed with people questioning him and having to defend himself, which is clearly out of his comfort zone, he "retires" from public life within 12 months. No one will ever say that he resigned, he and his LIV supporters will claim he was driven from office because of his race and sexual orientation
The factual historical record is clear and not in dispute - Nixon is not known to have any prior knowledge of, or involvement in, the Watergate break in. He was not informed of it until after it occurred.
If there was any evidence to show he had been involved in planning the actual break in, or had prior knowledge, you can be sure democrats would have included that charge in the articles of impeachment. But such a charge is not there.
You can also be sure that if there was any testimony or evidence of a priori knowledge or involvement the charge would have been made and documented by Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein.
Nixon was rightly accused of many things, but directing the Watergate Plumbers to break into the Watergate to steal documents from Democrats is not one of them.
Just remember that Hillary Clinton’s reaction to Watergate was not “what difference does it make”.
” - - - The sick thing is, Youre right- - - - “
Thanks, I guess - - - - . I just call ‘em as I see ‘em.
Ever wonder what was on the 18½ minutes? Nixon set up the taping system - he didn't share that information with others. He knew how to get around it. We'll never know for sure but the facts we know support your position. Not mine. How darkness works within humans supports me... but as I said, it's only a hunch.
