Senator John McCain, who famously defended his then presidential opponent Barack Obama against an islamaphobic supporter during a 2008 campaign rally, defended President Obama once again on ABCs This Week Sunday, cautioning his Republicans colleagues to cool it with talk of impeaching the President over the Benghazi attacks and its aftermath.
In response to Senator James Inhofe (R-OK) invoking the I word, McCain called for caution:
With all due respect, I think this is a serious issue, McCain told guest host Martha Raddatz. I will even give the president the benefit of the doubt on some of these things. We need a select committee.
On how much blame former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton deserves, McCain was much less generous:
I think the Secretary of State has played a role in this
she had to have been in the loop in some way, but we dont know for sure.
McCain next turned his ire on the now official 2016 Republican attack-ad on Clintons what difference does it make? outburst during her Benghazi hearing....

If Dick Durbin or Cynthia McKinney held that seat, please tell me how anything would be different?

Naw....he really didn’t defend him...He’s looking for impeachment, too....Just not saying it. He let no one off the hook today.

No, just mainstream Republican.

It’s not helpful to give the Dems a target really. Better to leave all the focus on the facts of what the administration did, and did not do, in Benghazi

This is a good sign, McCain always on the wrong side of an issue when it counts.
Means this issue is starting to count.

I love Sarah, but hope she's as ashamed of '08 as I am. Sarah has nothing to be ashamed of. She breathed fire into a dying campaign and gave it her all. The fact that she was stabbed in the back by mittiot's people is not her fault.

McCain is no damn better than Bam. McCain, got accustomed to his enemies a long time and continues to placate them today. He is a nauseatingly poor excuse for a US senator.

He had just selected her out of 320 MILLION people to be the vice presidential nominee of the Republican Party, one of only two major parties in the world’s only hyper-power! Or have you never heard of loyalty? WTH is wrong with you people?
