Others have posted about how men and women are “wired” differently for sex, and others have claimed that women want commitment.

But, they aren’t that different. In evolutionary terms, men want to spread their genes as much as possible. Women want the same, but they are limited by biology, and must maximize the survival of their children by their choice of mate.

You never see a picture of the young male. But if you did, you can be sure that he is not a member of the chess club. Women may not want to admit it, but their choices of mates are influenced by physical attributes: a strong, healthy male usually generates a similar offspring. A young high school football player can trigger that instinctive reaction, and an immature or dissatisfied woman may not be able to resist it, despite the consequences.

In our modern society, women are attracted to men with wealth and especially power, for the same reason. Today, those attributes result in better care and more opportunities for both the wife and the children.

Copy all, brother, and don’t disagree, though I’m not sure why you pointed it at me.

As it turned out, I was on the high school chess club and I played high school football, and I had a few girlfriends that were a few years older than me at the time. One or two may have been teachers... ; )
