The IRS acknowledging that it targeted conservative political groups during the 2012 election season has sparked bipartisan calls for investigation -- with House Republicans already saying they will hold a hearing on the issue. House Majority Leader Eric Cantor said Friday the Republican-led chamber would investigate the tax-collecting agency for flagging the groups for additional review to see whether they were violating their tax-exempt status. The IRS cannot target or intimidate any individual or organization based on their political beliefs, the Virginia Republican said. Cantors comments were followed within minutes by House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Dave Camp saying he would hold a hearing. The IRS on Friday apologized for targeting groups, but Camp, R-Mich., argued the agency had repeatedly denied such activity. The admission by the agency that it targeted American taxpayers based on politics is both shocking and disappointing, he said. The committee has jurisdiction over the IRS, but it remains unclear whether other House committees also will investigate the issue, in which roughly 300 groups were flagged.

The Distraction is Complete
I’m really not into all of these “hearings.” I prefer seeing some indictments.
I think it was an underestimated attempt at distraction but both this and Benghazi are big deals.
This is just as serious as Benghazi.
roughly 300 groups were flagged.
It will be interesting to see just who these groups are.
All roads lead to Obama.
Nope, Levin filed a complaint, not with the IRS, but with the Treasury Inspector General. They knew and after the excuse of blaming it on workers at the Cincinnati office, I’m sure some whistleblowers are calling up Joe and Victoria as well. Maybe even Jay Sekelo.
The IRS should have to reimburse all of the legal fees of those groups that were targeted

In some cases, the IRS acknowledged, agents inappropriately asked for lists of donors.
This is from a Congressman?? Funny , I remember the Hearings on Fast and Furious, where it was clearly demonstrated that MANY PUBLIC SERVANTS AND PUBLIC OFFICIALS COMMITTED TREASON. And not a single person has been executed nor even prosecuted. Or how about the Benghazi Hearings where many Senior Republican Officials had already previewed the evidence against Hillary and they allowed her to COMMIT PERJURY BEFORE CONGRESS and DID NOTHING, still have not done anything. So why would this dog and pony show be any different??
I was just about to say "no one ever gets in trouble for anything". Political crimes are like Lindsay Lohan drunk and drug driving. Elitists really have a whole different set of laws.
Thank God I have the Lord on my side.
The IRS needs to be abolished plain and simple.
I could not care one rats ass if every employee of the IRS got a deadly disease and died a slow death. IMO, they are nothing but a bunch of complicit traitors. EFF THEM ALL!
That’s what some of us on another thread were trying to determine. Why the spotlight on the IRS? Benghazi is WAY past the ignoring it stage.
We think something extremely newsworthy is about to break, just not sure what.

Just like that song from the Wizzard of OZ—the RINO party is singing “If we only had some balls”.
Right, we need Eric Holder involved.
Jewish groups were also targeted.
