An IRS official apologized on Friday to tea party organizations and other conservative groups for inappropriately targeting them during the 2012 election, the Associated Press reports.
The groups, which enjoyed tax-exempt status under the internal revenue code, were singled out for additional scrutiny of their tax exemption if their names included the words "tea party" or "patriot." In several cases, the groups were asked to provide a list of donors for review, usually a violation of IRS policy.
"That was wrong. That was absolutely incorrect, it was insensitive, and it was inappropriate. That's not how we go about selecting cases," said Lois Lerner, the head of the IRS division that oversees tax-exempt groups. "The IRS would like to apologize for that."

Horse hockey. Who authorized these fishing expeditions? They should be indicted, convicted, and sent to prison. At the very least, they should be fired.

If I had $1 mil, I’d bet it all that these employees are black. The IRS is a highly affirmative action employer.
Remember ..... all these folks are dues-paying members of the American Federation of Government Employees.
Federal union folks do not get fired. They get tramsferred to a different department, or a different location, but never fired.
Maybe they could blame it all on a movie. ... Oh yeah, ... hmmm...never mind... Didn’t work last time it was tried.
It MAY have been a diversionary tactic to draw attention away from the deepening Benghazi scandal.
So, if I cheat on my taxes next year, all I have to do is apologize??? Cool.

I think they just want to make sure that they are not treated the same way should the shoe end up on the other foot.
Make an example of these thugs. A message needs to be sent that we are not going to take this anymore. I’ll bet they’ll squeal like pigs with the right pressure. The low-level employees aren’t going to go to jail for their higher ups. Unless, of course, Soros pays them off.

The IRS is certainly sorry, but not in the apology sense.
Why are they apologizing now? What has happened to make them confess? They aren’t under the delusion that this confession will take heat off the jerk in the white house on Benghazi are they?
