The White House held an off-the-record briefing with reporters on Friday afternoon to discuss recent revelations about the Benghazi investigation, sources familiar with the meeting tell POLITICO.

Carney just said repeatedly at the WH briefing that Ambassador Rice very clearly left open the possibility that Benghazi was a result of terrorism because they didn’t yet have all of the facts.

What Susan Rice said, and I quote, was “what happened in Benghazi was in fact initially a spontaneous reaction ...”

She said “in fact.” Isn’t that in and of itself stating facts he claims they didn’t have?

I think he’s setting it up so that the White House can say this:

‘We acted in a deliberate manner, based on apparently incorrect information from the intelligence community. So we’re sorry that we couldn’t act in time to save anybody due to the conflicting reports and information that existed.’

IT is a flat out lie about the CIA. Hicks testified about all this obliquely. CIA on the ground WITH HIM in Libya would have been in contact with him in a crisis. Nobody told him it was a protest. Nobody. This is a fairy tale constructed in Foggy Bottom and at the WH.

Hicks told the Administration that night that it was a terror attack! They did not need to talk to the CIA in the first place. They did not need input from the FBI or anyone else. They had a guy on the ground, several people, that told them it was NOT a demonstration and that it was an attack. Shortly thereafter the people on the ground told them it had NOTHING to do with a video!

Good grief. Let us here right now ask the damn questions. We are better informed. Didn't any of the morons in the White House press room watch Hicks and the others this week?
